i was dreaming when i decided to do a rc for some reason. I tryed to stick my hand through my palm and it didnt work but then i tryed again for some reason and it did. I realized i was lucid and then everything started fading because i got way to excited and then i was awake. Anyone know how to stop from becoming over excited once u know ur dreaming or what i could do to stop from waking? O i and did try spinning right before to change the scene.. it didnt work.
Hey, congrats! At least you had one, even if it didn't last long.
Practice is what you need. Also, it helps when you talk yourself through it. You know, telling yourself; "Be calm, its just a lucid dream, calm and easy, don't get excited and blow it..."
that's pretty much exactly what happened to me.
i think i had a false awakening because i was expecting to get too excited.
try and tell yourself that you won't wake up.
Some people say that rubbing their hands together in a dream will keep you grounded, so to speak. I haven't had a lucid dream on purpose yet, but most people say that if you focus all your senses on something in the dream you can prolong the life of it.
try just rolling w/ the dream and not trying to do anything. if you manage to keep your cool for a little bit, then start concentrating on things (like the rubbing your hands together while you look at them thing). dont get pissed when you wake up way too soon, be patient and eventually youll have a dream where youre able to do control things for an extended period of time. it will probably take a number of tries, but the results are worth the wait
