Lucid Dream-World Community Center???

Just wondering if anyone else has been here? I had an LD sometime ago where I visited some type of community center. It consisted of two buildings and a nice outdoor facility, and there were lots of people hanging out, talking, eating etc. I started talking to a guy about where I was, and he told me that everyone there was a lucid dreamer. I looked around and was surprised to realize that every single person I saw was a lucid dreamer, and we were all lucid dreaming simultaneously. He said yes that was true. We talked a bit more about personal stuff, and then I was awakened accidentally. I thought, oh no, I was in the middle of a conversation! So I tried immediately to go back to sleep and get back to the center. I couldn't believe it, but I did it! I found the guy I had been talking to, and told him I had meant to get his name. He said his name was Carlos. So has anyone else been to the "community center"? And does anyone know who Carlos is? (Just kidding! I'm betting that LD's are like the internet - no one gives their real name! Well, maybe...)

nope...that sounds like a great place though. one question though. were u there when u started to LD or did you make yourself go there? try to go there again.

You should try getting someones phone number. Even though they may be reluctant to give one, it would be an interesting way of determining if this is real.

Hmmm... That is QUITE Intersting!!!! Carlos Castaneda wrote about 12 books dealing with Shamanism practiced by the Indians of the southwestern United States and Mexico. Almost all of the tennents of his teachings revolve around LUCID DREAMING. In these books Carlos is befriended by an indian sorcerer named Don Jaun who teaches him to lucid dream. It is remarkable how closely lucid dreaming is tied to all of the concepts he taught. It is pretty much agreed now that Don Juan was a fictional character used by Carlos as a teaching tool and most of his teachings have been discredited, but.... the relationship to lucid dreaming is astounding. If you get a chance, pick up a copy of 'The Art of Dreaming' by Carlos Castaneda in your local used book store. [Leo, please be civil if you also respond in this thread]

Thanks for the great info everyone! I'll have to see what other info I can get if I find my way back there. I was there as the LD started. I didn't try to find this place. Just sort of stumbled across it in my wanderings, I guess. Will definitely look for the book. Thanks!

This may seem really weird, but I just didn't make the connection until recently. Seeker suggested that the Carlos I met in my LD could have been Carlos Castaneda. I didn't think it was because the pictures I'd seen of him were taken when he was older. Then I found a picture of the guy I met in my LD. It's Carlos Castaneda snapped in 1949 - when he was younger! Kinda neat, huh?
