A first time LD as a child
I thought I would share my earliest experiences of lucid dreams...
What I find odd about my experiences with LD's is that they were all when I was younger. Usually, I would be chased, or scared to the point that I realized it was a dream, and I tried shutting my eyes and opening them again, or screaming to wake myself up. At this point I didn't even know it was possible to control your dreams, and at this point in my life wished I could have gone back and remembered those vicious criminals who messed with me as a child :shakehead2:
My first, and only LD experience was over 10 years ago when I was a child. I was scared to go to sleep for some reason I don't recall, and my grandmother reassured me that it was ok, and even if I do have a bad dream, I am able to control them if I really want to! I somewhat believed her, and went to sleep thinking about this. I then had a dream that night where I was beign chased around a corner by some man, and he was not too far behind. I started climbing a very high metal fence, and on the other side was a classroom with no walls, just the board and desks with the teacher talking. I don't know if it was this that made me realize I was dreaming, but it was something that kicked in halfway up the fence. Once I realized this, I looked back at the man who was chasing me, still being on the ground, and I jumped down. He immediately started running the way we just came, and I folowed him until I had him cornered somewhere. He was on the ground or kneeled, and I was wailing on this guy like no other. If I got tired, I made the picture frames on the walls attack him, or whatever else was in the room. After a vigorous beating of this guy, I awoke and still have never forgotten that dream :). I only recently found this site, and am pretty happy with all the useful tips given and what not :)
Wish me luck on another round of LD's coming my way
EDIT: Another thing I wonder, is since I had many of these when I was younger, should it be a little easier to be able to have an LD now when I try? I've been keeping track of my dreams for about 3 wks now, and luckily I can remember many dreams a night(First night I remembered 7 in fact, and the number usually was just a little lower then that on the number of dreams I could recall other nights), so hopefully I am on the right track!
