Thread: Woot! Just had my 2nd LD.

Today I went to sleep with the intention of having a Lucid Dream (of course, I always have this intention). I decided that I wasn't going to cheat it anymore and give the WBTB a solid effort. Usually I just stay up for 5-10 min then go back to sleep. Today, I was determined to make it the whole hour.

So, I slept from about 9:30am - 2:20pm. I woke up on my own so I decided that now was a good time to start my hour awake. I wrote down my dream from earlier, used the bathroom, washed my face, checked out DV.... etc for the hour. Then I went back to sleep.

While trying to sleep, I tried progressive relaxation then focused on my breathing. inhale..."one"....exhale..."I am Lucid"....repeat. It took a while to fall asleep. I was definately getting the vibes. Surges of electricity (best way to describe it I guess, just tingling sensation that started at my head and went to my feet) came in slow waves until I eventually fell asleep.

I then had a FA. My wife woke me up and my dog was going crazy. I was surprised by my dog, it didn't make sense why he would be so nuts. Next thing I know the dream transitioned to a lodge somewhere. (I still thought I was awake).

My wife, her friend, my Mom and Dad, and a few dogs were there. My mom was trying to tell us that all of the dogs had something in common, but she needed my Dad's phone to prove it. She told me to go get it from him.

So I went outside to try to get it. My Dad was using it so he wouldn't give it to me. So I walked back to the lodge. On the way in, there was a large antique mirror. I looked at my reflection but I couldn't make it out. I could see that I was there, but it was very blurry. My reflection moved when I did, but I really couldn't make out any detail. I looked real close at the mirror to see if it was my vision or if the mirror was just scuffed real bad. I didn't see any scuffs, so I began to suspect that I was dreaming. I walked in and there was a digital clock on the wall. I looked at it and it was the same as the mirror. I couldn't make out any detail about the numbers. I got close to it and it the display didn't get any clearer. So now I was sure, I am dreaming.

So I walk over to my Mom to tell her that I couldn't get the phone. I was looking around at everyone like, I can't believe I am dreaming, they don't even suspect it.... So my Mom asks where the phone is. I say..."um, Dad said he couldn't give it to me because........(pause for effect) because I am still asleep!"

Everyone gasped and reeled back like in some sort of cheesy sitcom. As if they were thinking "Took you long enough". So I said I can prove it and I jumped high in the air. Effortlessly jumped higher than I could in waking life. I was thinking I would fly, so I just told myself that I won't land. That wasn't quite as easy as I figured it would be. I came down with my feet infront of me, laying on my back in the air. Just before I hit the ground I began to hover. I was wobbling in the air, almost in the motion of an infinity symbol.

I was very excited and the dream began to fade. So I thought, crap... look at your hands! This time I brought them up and looked at them. Still wobbling around, I was staring at my lightly glowing almost translucent hands. I could see a few veins in them. I was impressed. Still very excited, so I decided to try spinning.

I forgot and closed my eyes while spinning. I remembered that is a bad thing, so I opened them back up and I was in an empty house with a lot of empty rooms. I knew that my time was running out and the dream was less lucid. So I thought, what do I want to see? Perhaps a woman in the next room? So I go through the door and there she is on the bed. Just as I get close enough to see what she looks like...... BAM I wake up.

WAY better than my first lucid. Easily 10x longer, which was my main goal. Now I just need to work on more control and not freaking out like a kid in a candy store....
