3rd lucid, with some weird FA/nonlucid type stuff?

I had my third lucid and it was awesome. I increased clarity by rubbing my hands together, i tried to fly (i could hover for a good 6 seconds), i "flicked my thumb with my other thumb like a lighter" setting it on fire (like a real lighter), which was awesome, i spun myself to a completely different state, walked around, etc.

One thing i noticed was right after i became lucid i was walking and past a mirror, i glanced into it and it seemed like i normal reflection? I didnt take note of this because i had cooler stuff to try (like thumb=lighter).
Also, i decided to spin myself back to where i first became lucid after about 10 minutes, and i saw my friend and said "dude, im dreaming!" and he said "no your not, not anymore" so i did RCs and they all failed, then the dream continued nonlucidly for awhile.
EDIT:In the nonlucid part I showed my friend a burn mark on the top of my thumb from the "lighter". It hurt and felt real.

Did the RCs fail because I actually (somewhere) kind of knew they would after what he told me?

To answer your question..Your RC"s failed just like you had said..because you began to believe what your friend was telling you, that you weren't dreaming..Your subconcious mind slipped back into the regular dream state because of it...

next time just dont listen to anyone but yourself :)

hey dude i just had my 3rd lucid last night. It was awesome. My mom was in my dream and she tried to convince me that i wasnt dreaming also but i knew i was dreaming so i didnt believe or care about what she was saying. I proved to her i was draeming by walkin through the window and flying. Congrats on ur lucid and i hope u have many more.

a fireball to the face usually changes their minds pretty quickly, from what i've noticed.

hahahahaha, nice man. The second that you become lucid, i find that telling yourself that you are lying in a bed, dreaming everything seems to help a lot. And just keep doing things like rubbing hands/spinning. Of course if someone tries to convince you that you're not dreaming, just punch them in the face, that's something you know you wouldn't do irl, so to do it you must be dreaming =D
