My first lucid dream
In my ever first encounter with a lucid dream, I have
1) realized I was dreaming
2) remain in the dream
3) controlled the dream
I came to the realization that you can control dreams just by realizing that you are dreaming, and that one would normally not know or even remember that they are dreaming to begin with.
I am writing this 10 minutes after I had just awoken because I needed answers to validate what I experienced was real on the web! and I was suprised that there were methods and even a community to master such a skill.
It all began when I was playing Sons of Liberty in my dream. Suddenly I was on the elevator with my girlfriend, going down and we were both eating ice cream. The setting was at her apartment. Once in the lobby, she started arguing with me, and she wanted me to leave. So on the way home, it daunted on me that I had no idea how I have arrived at her home in the first place, because I dont remember taking the train or driving. Then I told myself I must be dreaming, however real it seemed. I confirmed this by standing in front of moving traffic, getting hit by oncoming cars, and remained unharmed. =)
then the dream started to get fuzzy as I realized my awareness of dreaming and my attempts to dominate it are causing it to end prematurely. So I jumped into more traffic and the dream remained clear.
I did things that I normally would'nt do, many acrobatic stunts. I scaled high buildings and brought the dead back to life. I've enjoyed the company of many willing females and explored the deeper ends of sexuality.
I awoke to the slamming of a door, and I needed an answer on how to recreate this experience. :-P

welcome to the world of lucid dreaming :)
if you want to learn how to have lucids at will, check out the tutorials section. its also an excellent idea to start keeping a dream journal if you aren't already, and writing down your dreams as often as you have them.
"Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge PhD is also an excellent resource which you can get for under ten bucks on amazon. many of the techniques on this site are modifications of those covered in his book.
let us know if you have any questions about the tutorials
