Sleep depriviration and LD's

Anybody knows if there is a connection?

On saturday I've got an amazing computer game. Jagged alliance 2: urban chaos. I loved it so much that I played it since 8pm till 6 am. After this I went to bed and suffered through 5 hours half sleep.

On sunday, I've played whole day too, and at midnight I went to sleep.
To help me fall asleep faster, I popped 9 mg of melatonin and 100 mg B6.
Result - I got 2 absolutely amazing LD's and 2 great false awakenings during the period of 8 hours.

Not to mention that I didnt use any techniques, exept maybe saying "I want to recognize my dreams" a dozen times...

Is it just my lucky day, or there is a connection between this events?

Hmm...usually sleep deprivation prevents the active production of seratonin that inhibits REM...? Thats with me at least, the less sleep, the fewer dreams.

Well I found that one time when I was over tired and took a nap in the afternoon... I had an LD with two or three false awakenings. Now at the time I did not know what it was so maybe I did not have too much control, but i do remember what I did and what I wanted to do and doing it. Weird that I remember a Lucid dream now that I look back. But the other night I had one when I wasn't tired at all and was trying really hard to sleep. So one could say it could go one way or the other. Haha... time will tell for me! Sleep on! :lol:

Yes I havent much sleep lately and I have recalled almost no dreams whatsoever. But it is easter break soon so I'll sleep alot then!!! I'll also try some meditation and some mantras whilst awake... will this help do you think??

When you dont get your own personal required sleeping period, you get into a "sleep debt." When you can pay off this debt, you go into a very deep sleep, making it very hard to remember any dream.

Maybe it was the drugs, you druggie ;]

Although it does not work well with Lucid dreaming . I have pondreded over my expieriances I have had when deprived of sleep.

1.Hynogogic imagery- Who are familiar with this, it seems to bring on more vivid images before going to sleep. (Problem -staying awake long enough to get anything out of it)

2.The few OBE's I have had have been in association with a lack of sleep.

3. An altered perception of thoughts and reality .( without drugs) Which can be helpful for looking at the other side of things.

4.Damn does it feel good to finally go to sleep
