Half-Lucid dreaming
This is one of my latest lucid-type dreams that I've had, and is my most memorable. You'll see why I use the title later on.
First off I (yes, I'll admit it) am a Harry Potter fan. I love the books, and the movies, for the most part, have been pretty good.
Anyway, a few months ago, I woke up at 6:30 in the morning for absolutely no reason (I seem to be really good at that...) and was, thankfully, able to get back to sleep. However, in that time, I dreamt that I was in a Quidditch tournament. Now this is where it gets tricky. I didn't know that I was in a dream, I thought I was actually in the wizarding world and in the tournament. However, I was able to fully control my actions and realize (within the realm of Harry Potter) what the consequences of those actions would be (I can now truthfully say that I know what it feels like to simply fly, despite it being with the aid of a broomstick). I had a lot of fun flying around, bouncing off of the safety net, (yes, there was one, something I seem to have added), chasing the snitch, and batting the bludger at the other team's chasers. But the only point at which I realized that I was dreaming all of ths was when I woke up.
Has anyone else had any experiences like this, and would it be considered an LD or even an HLD?

First of all - HARRY POTTER RULES! :wizard: Here's an interesting Potter thread you might be interested in reading. Yes, I am also a self-admitted Harry Potter nerd.
I feel obligated to reply because I've had quite a few Potter dreams as well. Never a Quidditch one, yet, though. That would be great.
Anyway, from your description of the dream, it sounds like you have some control, but you didn't actually realize you were in a dream. So, sadly, you're dream wouldn't be considered lucid. :( It sounds like you were really close, though, experiencing that degree of control, and realizing you were dreaming right after you woke up.
Keep practicing and having fun dreams! :)

Sadly, no lucid my friend :( You had another form of ND - the ones that I personally don't get that much often but do occasionaly get. You have almost full control of your movement/actions and your dream is NOT like a movie. Although they can be fun, if you dont know that your dreaming - then you are not lucid. just having a fun dream

I'm afraid that's not really a lucid dream. The term I use for those cases is a "subconscious ego manifest". It's very vivid, I gather, and you play a big role, but you're not actually controlling it or interacting with it much in that sense.
Keep practising; nearly there!
