Frequent SP, way to induce LD's?

For the past several weeks, I have frequently been experiencing some fairly heavy sleep paralysis with a mix of hallucinations upon awakening when practicing MILD/WILD. Usually, I will have my eyes closed, and ill just ride it out. Sometimes it does scare me, but usually I can get it under control. I'll feel people touching me, pinching me, ill hear screaming in my ear...People talking to me. As well as some very strong body sensations such as shrinking and expanding very rapidly, an increase in gravitational pull, and swaying. You might be wondering what I am getting at with all this, I have experienced all of this on occasion throughout my life, but now it is getting stronger and more frequent. Is there anyway I could induce LD's with this? The sleep paralysis usually dies down in about 10-20 seconds, so I am unable to experiment much.

when i first started paying attention to my dreams i would wake up in sleep paralysis often, or wake up and shortly thereafter enter into it.

after many,many failed attempts (most failing in the first minute or two) i discovered the key is PASSIVE AWARENESS.


if you have HI, watch without watching. if auditory hallucinations, listen without listening. if only the 'vibrational' sensation of SP, feel without feeling..

with your combination of auditory and tactile sensations, i'd suggest ignoring the auditory effects completely and calmly focusing on your body (as the audible effects are usually more random and disconcerting.) surrender fully, and EXPECT to separate from your physical body with your dreaming body, without TRYING to separate.

:D absolutely useless information? perhaps. i had read similar advice and thought it bullshit. but once i actually succeeded in WILDing my first time i knew exactly what they were trying to say. now whenver i have SP there's a decent shot i'll "pop out".

SP is an excellent opportunity to acheive lucidity.

I get SP a lot, the easiest was for me to enter a dream in this state is to simply imagine rolling out of bed. Don't actually try to move though. After a while you will feel yourself roll over (this is your dream body), you may think that you have actually moved your physical body, but from my experience this is never the case.
Once you have rolled out of bed perform an RC, otherwise you may have an FA.

Ya I agree with Ubik. When I try to LD I often experience SP, too. 3-5 times a week usually. Experimenting with it gives you a really good feel for it. I learnt how to make the SP last longer but it's kind of hard to describe. Like in a lucid dream, you would not keep an empty mind but rather keep the input/output of the REM system going to experience the SP more as a type of LD that you don't wake out off. This also gives you several tries to induce LD/OBE. I manage a minute or two by just keeping all the sensations going, imagining stuff, trying out sensations etc. Also visual halluscinations could lead you to an LD if you focus well enough and just kind of "dive into" the dream you might be seeing. But Ubik's method and related ones are usually better since you're basically already in the dream and shouldn't need the circuit of imagining a dream etc.
