      Wierd Dreamer

Im a bit of a wierd dreamer. Ive had many problems in my dreams and ive always worked them out. One of my problems was ocurring everytime i realized i was dreaming. This actually made me very ticked off because i couldn't enjoy my lucid dreaming. I think the problem was that when i realize i am dreaming i get a little bit too exited and wake up. Anyway, the way i fixed this was by trying to keep it a secret..yea, a sercret... It sounds wierd, but its working. The way i do this is by not letting myself know im dreaming but actually deep inside knowing i am.. lol, sounds confusing.

So, i kind of fell into an interest in lucid dreaming.(just so you know, i barely have lucid dreams). I read a few articles on how to do this, but the most common thing i use is the"Imagining images and scenes before you dream" method(not sure what its called).

So my first attempt was the wierdest thing that happened to me. Here it is:

So im imagining a few things before i go to sleep(at this point im pretty awake and just waiting to hit lucidity). So right before i hit it, one of the characters that i was imaging(still awake), laughs, and then says" U are going to go for the ride of your life". Then i bright gold light flashes right in front of me, and it feels like(dont know how to explain this) my body feels lighter all of a sudden and the thing i was imaging last sort of tilts and fades away. Then i get these strong and huge( when i say strong and huge, I MEAN IT!) vibrations. Well, ive never had this experience before, so u might have guessed im really freaked. I mean i was really scared(and at some point really exited). Well the over fear woke me up. I sort of regret it, but you never know.

Any help on what i experienced? Im thinking its a failed OBE. I just dont understand the light and the dream character.

Common to lose lucidity out of excitement.

Imagining images and scenes before you dream is called dream incubation (creating the first dream of the sleep period by carrying thoughts of it into the dream state from waking) but what you probably mean and what really is a commonly used concept is hypnagogia (also called hypnagogic imagery).

Then i bright gold light flashes right in front of me[/b]
      Perhaps exactly hypnagogic imagery.

Then i get these strong and huge( when i say strong and huge, I MEAN IT!) vibrations.[/b]
Seems like sleep paralysis. The function of everyone's body that paralyses us so that we don't act out our dreams. A phase everyone goes through during sleep onset.

Yes I would have to agree with you that the dream is wierd but:

      1. it is a lucid non the less

      2. at least you actually experinced it instead of waking up

So right before i hit it, one of the characters that i was imaging(still awake), laughs, and then says" U are going to go for the ride of your life". [/b]
      Fitting for a 'wierd' lucid.
