1st time LD and went to hell

i was drinking alcoholl for about 13 hours straight and passed out at a friends house. i took deep breaths and counted to 100 and i could feel myself going through the layers of the earth and i ended up in hell. i could not control anything that happend. it felt totally real. everything was pitch black. i heard millions of screams and i felt people breathing on me and i could feel the intense heat. i could not see my body at anytime.when i woke up it was like a came through the floorboard back onto the bed. my friend said i was asleep for 5 hours and i didnt make any noises. i had no idea where i was at.i was freaking out like i was on drugs (as what family members described it) i was asking them "where am i?" "am i on earth?" "who are you?" and i was walking around the yard touching everything making sure i was here. i even punched my house to see if i could knock it down.it took a couple days for me to get back to normal. i dont know what happened. i dont know if it was really real or just a dream or what..

whatever it is, in my opinion...its a sign from above to take a look at your life, and where you are honestly heading....

I remember a while back i was reading an article on some like people that would drill 8 miles into the bottom of the earth to take reports on the way the earths craters shifted...well they dropped a microphone down there to listen to the sounds of the shifting..When they listened to the playback..They heard thousands of human voices screaming in pain and horror....I listened to the mp3 and it was really freaky...

There was also another guy years back who did like ocean caves or something, idk the whole thing about what he did, but he said he drilled deep into the ocean and heard screaming voices in pain and horror..the same day he heard that, is the same day he quit that job to never return...


My advice is..which i dont mean to bring religion or anything into this...but take a look at your life, and how your living, trreating people...it states in the bible "we shall not worship 2 masters" no matter what it maybe...drugs, movies, bands, actors etc....and that we are suppose to ask ourselves...who are we really living for...the higher power....or, ourself...

yeah i'v e listened to the mp3 where that guy put the microphone down into the earth... but im still confused... i dont know what happened. was it an OBE or something? im not into religion at all but my father is and he has this book called Divine Revelation of Hell and its about this lady who had an OBE and walked with God into hell. But i dont know...all of this is really hard to fathom.

There's nobody here who can tell you exactly what it was you experienced. I think you've been given some excellent advice already though.

One thing I know for certain - 13 hours of drinking until you pass out is NOT recreational. If you look at your life and decide that you want some help with what is possibly an alcohol problem, PM me and I'll be glad to talk to you about it in private. I believe that God does speak to us in many ways. It is possible you have been spoken to in a way that got through to you.

There is hope.

i know that alcohol affects the whole dream process or whatever but to tell you the truth its not my problem.... and i was not the one who had the experience...it was my brother and he aslked me to do this for him. im sorrie i didnt mention that earlier.

you ask if there is any other explination other then god/religion on what your bro experienced, an the honest answer is...no...there's not...hell is part of religion no matter what you do...but the interesting was i read a while back or heard on the news that someone had a Near Death Experience, and all he saw was black--dont think he heard any voices...I think god was speaking to your bro, no matter how funny you may think it seems..God loves us all, but sadly has given us the choice to live our lives for him, or our self..and of course we are all sinners under the christian religion, that will never change...From first hand experience..i use to smoke over a half ounce weed a day...thats alot of weed, and alot of money...After being tossed into jail for 73 day's, and going through an extreme 3 month in patient treament facility...i came out better then what i was, and now god plays a big role in my life...This type of quesetion about your bro's experience..you ask us questions thinking we have the answers,when honestly what you need to do is not direct your attention and eyes on us for answers, but the one who holds the answers....God/Jesus

just out of curiosity...are most people who are into lucid dreaming Christians? i used to be all Christian and stuff....but it screwed me over(long story) and now maybe from my brothers experience... i might check backk into it...even tho im totally against religion... or maybe im just confused... i dont know.

Well it's really something you have to stick at, and hope for the best! It all comes with practice, as most diciplines do, but as long as you keep positive, and try to keep your dream journal as up to date as possible, you'll be havin' an LD in no time!

I don't agree about the no explanation other than God. I can think of one more. It could be that your subconcious was sending you a strong message to clean up your act and NEVER drink for 13 hours straight until you pass out again. I don't know if you are religeous (or really believe in God at all), but my assumption is that deep down (or not so deep, depending what your believes are), you believe in heaven and hell, and are scared of hell, and your subconcious was using this to scare you. It could just be a metaphor for how your life will be if you keep doing this; a terrible mess which you will hate your guts for.

all it was, was horrible horrible nightmare, the alchahol probably just made it extremely vivid.

as you just said your family is half religious so your bro prolly believed in hell, we dont have nightmares about froliking in a fields of flowers, we have nightmares about our deepest and darkest fears, just because the context of the dream was religious doesnt mean it was some message from God.

your brother is likely dealing with psychological confusion stemming from what sounds like a christian upbringing.

i very much doubt his experience was a message from almighty god.

i was shown a book a year or two ago by a friend of mine, written by a woman who claimed to have had numerous visions of both heaven and hell, and to have been escorted through both by jesus christ himself..it's called "heaven is so real"

millions take her experiences at face value, even though she makes erroneous claims, like the scars christ showed her were in the middle of his palms (when crucifixions were actually done through the wrists)..


it would be a shame IMHO if your brother allowed this unpleasant experience to herd him back into a fear-based christianity, especially as it seems he is trying to move past this worldview, but his unconscious is manifesting dark concepts he has been exposed to.
(no offense to any christians...i used to be one :) )


the sounds from hell myth is an excellent example of people allowing superstition, expectation, and fear to make things seem real and "external", when really they should realize the power of the human mind to give archetypes and symbolisms incredible realness.

Thank... goodness :-P for the last two posts. No other explanation than religion? Thirteen hours worth of alcohol might just do the trick. I'm not trying to start an argument or imply that god doesn't exist, because i just don't know, but it's completely that the mind would use the scenario of hell as a representation of fear, as the concept of hell strikes fear in to many who believe in it. This shouldn't even need explaining on a message board such as this one, where the focus is the mind itself, and it should be no secret that dreams are elaborate works of the mind, and should not necessarily be taken at face value at all.

I'm not trying to disrespect anybody's beliefs at all. For all i know it was divine intervension, i'm just kind of surprised at most of the replies in the thread. I don't like one sided responses of any kind, religious or non-religious, when there are clear and valid explanations being ignored.

you don't need got to exist. you just need to believe it, and you'll see all the christian things in your dreams.
christians will say that you (or your brother, it's the same) got warned by god, and non believers like me will say that you got warned by your deeper self. It's just exactly the same.
anyway, i suppose that if you (or brother) had a dream about hell, it means you failed getting completely rid of the christian education received. It takes time...

Look, whether you believe in it being a message from God or something from the subconscious, the outcome is still the same - a bad trip! The contents (whether from the divine or self) where fabricated by content that was either experienced or seen by the dreamer.

Had your brother been watching a the Star Wars trilogy before going to bed, he would have likely been on the Death Star rather than hell. Had he been watching 13 hours of porn while drinking, he would have probably been dreaming of being raped by hundreds of voluptuous, horny women :wtf: hmm... Or if he was watching a documentary on the life of the duckbilled platypus, he would have likely found himself lost in the outback by some stream in Australia, being hunted down by Aborigenies while ridding on the back of a platypus!

Sounds like a classic case of hypnogoggia at the onset of sleep paralysis - dude, it was either a very vivid nightmare (or night terror?) or lucid gone bad. No worries.

Lucid dreaming has no strict relation to Christianity nor to any other religion. Lucid Dreaming is simply the act of being lucid while dreaming. However you may notice that lucid dreamers are usually people with interests of the kind: spiritual / self-growth / sel-knowledge / assistance to others / etc...


Actually if it had a somewhat loose link to any particular form of religion it would be with Budhism or Shamanism as in these traditions Lucid Dreaming is actively taught.

Lucid dreaming has nothing to do with religion persificly, dreaming does - depends what you believe - but i see what you mean. LOL

I also had a dream about being in hell. REally scary, i wasnt Lucid though but i dont believe in hell anyway. Its what your mind creates. But if you see your dream/? as a sign then prehaps you should take it as a sign, especially looking at your personal lifestyle. But dont always try to look at everything as a sign though.

i had a dream that i woke up and opened my door and i was in hell, so i shut the door, and then a voice told me that i could get out by getting through a mirror in my room, so i tried to break it down with punches, kicks, anything, the voice then said that it can only be broken by a creature of darkness, like the one that created it, so all these shadowy creatures appeared, one jumped to attack me, but i wanted to get out of there so much that i grabbed it by the foot and repeatedly hit it against the mirror, eventually it broke, so i threw the creature away and ran through the broken mirror, weird huh...but i would call it a nightmare, because when i think about it it makes me laugh... but i have never had a nightmare, even that time where an army of evil clowns with axes broke into my house, i wouldnt call that a real nightmare, because it seems more like a really bad horror film.
