      First planned LD experience

I went to sleep around 8 PM and set my phone to wake me up at 1:30 AM. I forgot to turn the alarm on but still woke up around 2 which was kind of cool. Then i watched Waking Life and read my dream journal for about an hour and went back to sleep. As i was drifting off the whole time i was telling myself outloud and in my head that i wanted to dream about being in my house because in my house i know where all the digital clocks are. So it seemed like a semi-WILD, but i dreamt i woke up in my bed and i cant remember if i was lucid at first. I remember looking at strange pictures on my wall that were never there, then i realized that there was a digital clock next to my bed and sure enough i looked at it and the numbers were crazy looking. I immediatly became lucid and just started looking around my room. I also tried looking at my hands, then looking at other things, then back to my hands. It did not last very long and shortly after looking at my hands for a bit i shifted into a very vivid non-LD dream where i was competing in some kind of pool olympics with crazy games i have never even concieved before... All in all the LD dream was one of the most realistic dream experiences i have ever had and the fact that i dreamt i woke up in bed made it even more exciting. Tonight i am going to try the same procedure and see if i cant prolong the LD dream. Im thinking that the dreaming of waking in bed is the prequel to many more lucid dreams to come. I feel like i finally turned on my brain

The worst mistake you can make is to think you're alive when you're really asleep in lifes waiting room.

Way to go on the LD! Even though you didn't maintain it for an extended period, it's still a huge step in the right direction. And the rest of the dream was more vivid than usual, too. Keep us posted on your progress!
