First Lucid Dream woot
Ok so this just happened last night, but first let me give you a little backround on myself:
Since I first found this site I've been working on improving my dream recall, as it is the first step in becoming lucid (for me atleast). I have also started keeping a dream journal. For the last week, I have been waking up (naturally- no alarm or anything used) atleast once of twice in the middle of the night after my dreams and recording them in my dream journal.
So now back to the main point of this thread.
My friend and I just got back from Superman returns (great movie, btw) and it was about one in the morning so I decided to just crash at his house. He slept on his bed, and I slept in a sleeping bag on his floor. I fell asleep, and because my body/mind has been trained to do so, I woke up in the middle of the night but this time I kept my eyes closed and I didn't move my body at all. I concentrated on getting back in my dream. Instead of going back into my dream though, I woke up and was laying on my friend's bed. This was my reality check/dream sign because I knew I was sleeping on the floor in his room, not on his bed. I immediately became lucid. Remembering that I had to stabalize my dream, I take a good hard look at my hands. I get out of my friend's bed and my friend isn't even in the room so that was another reality check for me. At this point I was pretty damn excited about the state I was in, but I was bored of being in the room. So I decided to jump through the window, to try and be in a new place, at which point I woke up
Looking back on it, there were somethings I should have done, but I didn't. I should have stayed in the room at little longer, picked up some of the things in my friends move and generally just get a feel for this new state of mind. I guess I was just so excited about being lucid I forgot some very important key steps.
Well there's my story. Happy dreaming :D

Wow, well welldone for noticing such a subtle change, aswell as remembering to stabalise etc! I still usually forget to do it these days, and I'm sure you'll do something cool in your next lucid dream :)

Yer, its all a case of experience, i always woke p early by getting too excited, its understandable, it just takes time and practise, the first few LDs are for building stabilty, don't be tempted to try and fly straight away, start by doing what many of us have only just done, and take a moment to examine the extreme detail of the room, every well thought out inch, you'll be glad you did, trust me

I haven't woken myself up from excitement. I guess I pre-trained myself well. Or I feel there's too much value in the LD to take any risks in ending it prematurely. I wish it would go on for hours, but I've averaged about a minute.

Yeah it's really good you managed to act calmly for the first few seconds to realize your situation. Believe me, it's going to get a lot more fun.
In my third or fourth Lucid dream or so, I was able to go outside of my house (in the dream) and drive my dad's car, or make it rain, or somehow form a character into the dream by will- as though it was some sort of script that I could fill the way I wanted.
Sweet dreams. :)

Good job! I've had a couple of lucid dreams myself.
Last night I had a Lucid.
I was... in school, and I asked myself. "wait its July 2nd! I must be dreaming"
I told a girl next to me she was dreaming and she looked at me like I was crazy.

That sounds pretty weird. Congratulations on your first lucid dream.
