So wow, I probably had one of the scariest most real dreams of my life while I was napping yesterday for an hour or so. Let me start from the beginning.

The beginning is very hazy, I vaguely know that I drank some sort of liquid, like alcohol (this is my dream obviously).. and I somehow ended up being kidnapped buy some guy. I think I made the connection in my dream that the alcohol somehow knocked me out and now I was being held hostage or SOMETHING on this couch, and I couldnt move.

Now let me explain, it is so confusing..

During the dream, I remember NUMEROUS times opening my eyes and it was the STRANGEST feeling. First, I could NOT move. I tried screaming as loud as I could, but nothing would happen. I felt like something was absolutely holding me down. Second, my eyes were maybe half open, so I was only barely seeing the scene. Third, and I realized this after the dream, the scene I was seeing was exactly the scene of the room from where I was laying when I open my eyes.

So I figured out afterwards that it was actually sleep paralysis mixed in with a dream.. I kept opening my eyes, and when I did I would see things, but I felt like it was part of the dream only.

I remember reading that people can see hallucinations when they get sleep paralysis, and thats exactly what happened to me. I kept feeling this presence just outside of my vision, as if the man was there "holding me hostage". The actual dream wasnt what scared me, but it was that I KNEW I was dreaming. I kept telling myself COME ON WAKE UP. This lead me to screaming and trying to force myself to wake up. I even had enough conscious that I was telling myself "You are LUCID, do something you can CONTROL!". I tried the spinning thing, where you spin in a circle if you want to gain a clearer view of the scene and control it or something. Didn't work..

The whole dream is so hazy, but I do know that I "woke up" multiple times. I would wake up, and finally be done with the dream. I felt like I was perfectly awake several times, only to find that I truly was still dreaming. At one point I opened my eyes during the sleep paralysis part and saw my friend poking his head around outside, as if he had come to rescue me from the man. At one point, my friend even came to me and started to wake me up and said "everything will be ok its over now" (telling me the DREAM will be over, because I knew it was a dream)... I proceeded to "wake up", but I was actually still asleep.

The entire thing freaked me out really badly, but I think it is interesting that I got sleep paralysis. It is the strangest feeling in the world.. you just CANNOT move, and even screaming or forcing yourself up does not work. I felt like if I forced myself up enough, then I could just like push myself out of the dream and fling my real body up into the phsyical world. Its so weird.

Finally my friend knocked on the door (the entire thing happened during a break at this little retreat thing we had gone on), and woke me up for good. I knew right away that I was in the real reality because I didnt feel that pressure or anything of the sleep paralysis.

Freaky experience, but I am glad to know I am an intense dreamer.. maybe I can attain better lucidity.
