Holy moley what a trip. I just awoke from the most incredible lucid experience of my life yet!

I used to be quite a frequent LDer and it got to the stage where I may have 3-4 a week if I was lucky. I had mastered staying in for a long time and even developed my own methods of going about difficult tasks like changing the surroundings/asking people tought questions etc. But then I got one of those job things and everything started to fade... until last night.

I've been quite ill latley (nothing too serious) and on some pain killers and antibiotics so I woudn't have imagined I could have had such an amazing LD. Does anyone know if codine/antibiotics (amoxycillin to be exact) effects your ability to LD? The strange thing is I've been sleeping really badly because of my sickness, and this is the first night I've had a decent sleep and it fully kicked in.

I realised I was dreaming very shortly (well I think) after I fell asleep.. there was the usual rush of excitment and I nearly lost it as it took me by a huge suprise. I tried spinning but this wasn't working so i desperatley fell to the ground and just played like a reptile and kept it smooth and calm... perfect. It's great when you feel it "lock in" you know? so cool. I was then in an absolute playground.. I was doing all kinds of rad things.. I was in a supermarket and I just cruised around checking out products, talking to people, and joking with all the staff about my LD as they were all in the know about it.

One interesting thing I noticed was one character in my dream was very cheeky, he kept tricking me into holding a bag of dry pasta (i know i know, but its a dream yeh) which would make my trousers fall down. He did this over the entire night.. kept popping up and tricking me in different ways to hold this bag of pasta.

Anyway, after a while I had a FA and remember talking to my friend bennet, who kindly reminded me that I was infact still dreaming and I was right back into it.

I seriously can't think of a time last night when I wasn't LDing. I know its not likely i was in the state the whole evening but It felt like an absolute eternity. I got to the stage where I Was looking for something to do (definantly no bored at all but more of.. hmm what shall i do next).

I went rally driving for a long time... I dont even have my linsence in real life but this was heaps of fun.

One thing that always amazes the hell out of me is how easy it is to dream up absolutley beautiful music. I am quite an active musician and attempt to do this for a career (www.cosm.co.nz) and when I am dreaming, I can come up with the most incredible ideas... I just wish there was a way to notate/record what I hear because I can't quite remember how to emulate it when I wake. I am quite advanced with my ability to notate sound, expecially electronic sounds... so I wonder if there is anything I can do to help get what I hear down on paper before I forget it.

I used to have abrupt ends to my LDs by asking questions to dream characters that were far to difficult to answer, and they would usually lash out violently at me and I would wake up, but this time It was all friendly.. everyone was happy... almost like they were happy to see me after all this time. I slowly drifted back to reality and here I am now at my computer (checked, don't worry ).

I'ts completly shed new light on LD to me and bumped my LD experiences way up on my priority list. I am going to start making more of an effort to sleep properly and LD way more often.

I hope someone found this interesting! just a wee rant as I am so excited but nothing wrong with that aye

nice man! Ive had a couple of lds myself but im still working for even just 2 lds a week a couple of questions for ya. If u were lucid how would that cheeky fellow trick u into holding the bag of pasta? and also u said u were sick. do you think the medications u were on could have had anything to do with the ld? anyway sounded like an awsome ld.

Just because he was lucid doesn't mean he was gullible lol.

Even in real life if some fat dude asks you to hold dry pasta, you might do it just because it's unusual.

I guess just with so much going on and how overwhelming the whole experience was, I didn't even think twice. He'd just say "hold this for a second" or soemthing, then bam!

It was very slapstick comedy like. Everyone would laugh at me when it happened, but i'm not an easily embarresed person and can laugh at myself fine so I always found it super funny as well.

      Real strange character tho huh

That's a funny dream. I have a lot of them in stores, especially Odd Lots for some reason.

Wahey, that sounds like a fantastic lucid. ^_^

I love the way in particular that there was that DC who kept trying to get you to hold a bag of pasta. The best thing about it was that it was actually 'you' who were doing the tricking, just subconciously. Repeatedly tricking somebody else is hard, but repeatedly tricking yourself is just incredible.

Congrats, and thanks anyway, I'm just browsing for motivation at the mo, and this was certainally it.

cosm... groovy tunes man. :] shows some true artistic talent. i love the whole idea of a certified organic sound machine, and you've got quite the artwork on your website to show it.

hey fix that link for the music in Portugal sometime. i think you put a space in it.

i can relate to you completely about hearing music in dreams, full of detail. they can inspire you. but yea, as for a detailed reproduction after you wake, wow. i think you'd have to have a perfect memory.

Longest lucid dream was something over one hour.

for who can know those distant stars? like a life we have not lived, within the twinkle. like a universe we've not known, so far away.
