Up until a couple of months ago I had no idea what lucid dreaming was. Some of my friends told me about it and I got really interested but never remembered my dreams. So I spent the last couple of months imrpoving my dream recall, got it up to about 2 a night. I came really close to lucid about a week ago when I asked someone in my dream if I was dreaming but he didn't know. This morning after already writing a couple of dreams down I went back to sleep with thoughts of lucidity in my head. I closed my eyes and began chanting after every breath 1.. Lucid 2.. Lucid 3.. Lucid 4.. Lucid etc.
Here is my dream...
My girlfriend and I are at a music festival at a sports ground. She is setting up the tent and I go for a walk to find some food. At the end of the field is a guy setting up a fruit and vegetable stall. I sample some of his food, there are tasty macadamia and pecan nuts. In the end I grab two bags of potato chips (why I don't know when there was so much good fruit etc.) and he says not to worry about the money. I'm stoked and go back and tell my gf about the bargain. [My recall skips abit here]
All of a sudden the festival is under attack by alien missiles from the sky. It gets pretty darn scary and I take my gf back home on the train, then I'm back at the festival and my mum is there. We are running around trying to dodge these massive things and eventually I see they are made out of rubber and just bounce back up into the sky. After a while I realise the missiles are being aimed at ME and I start deflecting them with my hands. Some scrape past my ear and I can feel the heat of them.
Next thing I know I have this tiny knife in my hands. The blade is some kind of purple swirling energy. This is where I start thinking "hey this seems like a dream". So I decide to use my will power and make the energy blade bigger. I command it with my mind and manage to make it bigger. I can't remember how but I use the knife to defeat the alien force. Once the missiles stop I feel free to explore my dream so I go over to this random girl and just start taking off her clothes. She starts to laugh and says "Yeah, I know!" as if she's replying to my thoughts. I check it's a dream by turning around to see people's reactions (I am in the middle of a festival) and everyone is frozen still [I have always fantasized about freezing time and doing this kinda thing]. I double check it's a dream by looking at my digital watch [I don't even wear a watch in reality] and the time goes like 1:15 to 1:19 to 1:11 to 2:20 all over the place. Now I am 100% it's a dream so I say to the girl "Hey watch this" and I tried to fly. First I just jumped and didn't get very high, a bit like a man jumping on the moon, then I jumped and got a bit higher. I remember my friend telling me that he kicks his legs like treading water so I tried that and got as high as the tree tops. I came back down and thought if I don't wake up and write this down I am going to forget it so I woke myself up at that point by forcing my eyes open.
End dream
So that was my first lucid dream. So happy.. next time a bit more clarity would be cool but the control factor was way better than I expected for my first lucid!
