I know this dream (which it must have been! ) is very surreal, but it has been with me for as long as I can remember, and I can remember back to very early infancy!

I was up in heaven with God and the angels, when God told me it was my turn to do my time on earth. I was very upset about it as I was enjoying myself up there. Even to this day the dream is very vivid. One interesting thing is that I didn't see God and the angels as human forms they were nebulous spirit beings. That is a strange concept for a very young child to perceive!

Hmm. Wish I could tell you what it means, but I've got no clue. Hmm. Thanks for the read though.

So do you believe that the soul exists before creation?

also, do you remember what Gods voice sounded like? (i.e. Many people speaking at once, a waterfall, etc.)

The communication was soundless like minds linked together.

I've had a very similar experience to loveapple as a child, I was dreaming that before I was born I was floating up in the air with what I can only assume to be some kind of 'spirit' (God? Spirit Guide?) It had no specific form and the communication is exactly as loveapple described, you sort of just knew....there certainly wasn't any talking like we do here on earth. I suppose telepathic could describe it if you had to put a label on it. The message was similar too... that its time to be born. We happened to have been 'floating' over the house I spent my first 16 years on earth living in. I should add it felt really good up there, difficult to describe. It was exceptionally peaceful and maybe if you multiply that feeling you get when "all is right in the world" by 100 or so it might come close.

I've actually had dream memories while dreaming before... and for a couple of them... I had this thought and feeling that I was somewhere else for quite a long time. There's no imagery yet, it's barely there, but it was just this hightened feeling for a few brief moments in my dream (non-lucid), and it wasn't until after I began lucid dreaming that I began to have this.

There must have been 2 or 3 times where I just remembered the dream, and remembered how in my dream something re-surfaced... that I... can't quite put my finger on!

Very difficult to describe, it's not like a regular dream memory resurfacing, it's something more, and I thought of the possiblity before I even read this post.

Though I do believe in God so I'm not surprised by any of this

This reminds me of a particular dream I had in my early years in high-school...

I dreamed that I was in a very light, 'cloudy' place talking with God (similar to your experience it was more of a thought or an idea than actual words).
In the end He told me that it was time for me to go back.

I then began to 'fall' out of Heaven, through space, towards earth, through the atmosphere, through the clouds, the roof, and finally I landed in my body.
As soon as I was back in my body, I woke up with a startle.

But do I believe it means anything..?
Not really -- at that time in my life I was a zealous young catholic (although I never really showed it publicly), so my hypothesis is simply that my dreams were in accord with my every-day wish: to be with God. =p

~Side note: Now I'm more of a Zen buddhist who believes in Christ than anything else, heh..
