Once when I was dreaming I was falling really fast off a cliff. Just before I woke up I FELT like I was falling then I opened my eyes and I kinda went further into my bed a bit. Is it natural or is it just me? :shock:

It's natural, trust me. I've done that several times, right when I wake up I like jerk or whatever.

Yeah that was a pretty natural event. You were also experiencing a semi False Awakening. When you opened your eyes and still had that sensation of falling you may have been experiencing another dream, but if that wasn't the case then more than likely you mind was still eduring that falling sensation.

I do it all the time... I sacred the shit out of my gf once funny as and she wouldt beleve me it was a dream that i was falling lol
I've had this too, its really wierd.
Especially if its an intense scenario like falling, the dream is probably causing physical reactions in the body (adrenaline release, increase in heart rate, etc). So for a moment as you wake up, the brain is unsure which situation is really happening. It just uses a bit of both.
Turns out "reality" is a bit bendy. :shock:
Yeah, I'd have to say this is absolutely one of the most shared occurances in my opinion.
Definitely done it before. Like when you take a nap and jump out of it because you saw an image flash.
Of coarse, simple falling in a dream period is something nearly everyone can relate to, from whom I've ever spoke with at least.

yeah i've had those dreams a few times before, just fell off top of buildings and stuff (dunno what i was doing up there, tryin to b "the one" in matrix i guess) i rekon it feels awesome, the whole adrenaline rush of it all, i always wake up with a jump, but it hasnt happened to me in a long time...
When i fall in a dream it feels like im on a freaking roller coaster every single time. I even woke up off my bed one time. I get that free fall sensation... I do not like it lol.
One time I was just laying down. Not trying to sleep but was thinking. I was thinking what it would be like to trip in class and while I imagined it, I jerked up and got freaked out. It was the same exact sensation as a falling dream.
BTW, i think it a OBE mushroom or astral mushroom in the middle, lol.
Maybe I'm being slow and didn't understand the confusion because I thought the mario brothers mushrooms were pretty standard pop culture references. . . the red ones make you grow taller and the green ones give you an extra life. . . The glass one isn't from any game I've played but it looks really neat!
I think the one in the middle makes him metal mario. Im not exactly sure but it looks like it makes sense i may be wrong lol.
No, the one that turns mario into metal is completely chrome, not glass. His name is dream sailor and this is a dream based forum so I think it is a mushroom to turn him lucid.
That kind of fits in with the Alice in Wonderland theme. . . Alice dreams of Wonderland. . . Alice eats one side of the mushroom to grow taller. . . the other to become small. . . If Alice had only found the psychodelic glass mushroom she could have become lucid and wished the Queen out of existance.

The Mario mushrooms are simply a symbol of power/energy to me, and realistically in Mario world of coarse. I felt they are a very well known symbol throughout the mid-80's and up gaming culture. Who could forget those little eyes and their spots on top?
I guess I'm just a Mario finatic/Nintendo loyalist...needed a matching sig for the avatar and this fits the bill for me. Green is life, red is energy or "growth" as it was in the beginning Mario games at least.
The center mushroom looks like glass actually now that I look closely (in my larger image I have here), I always thought it was chrome. Metal Mario is the only use for it I can see, so maybe it is intended as chrome... Now I have a problem to figure out, darn you sharp eyed people.

I get this sometimes aswell, but the other night, rather than turning out of the bed, or falling into it, it felt like someone grabbed my legs at the bottom of the bed and PULLED me right out. It was rather freaky lol

I have a lot of falling dreams. I had them when I was little most nights.. the same dream falling down a black hole.. and because it was dark I couldn't see the bottom and when I would land. I was so scared of the impact because it was a horrible feeling.. I'd then dive up out of bed. :S Hate falling dreams :(

Lunica, I used to have falling dreams mostly when I was little too. I liked it though. I liked the adrenaline flowin through my body while I was falling. Like when you're on a roller coaster.

Haha, I had one where I was trying to be Evel Kinevel (if thats how you spell it) and jump off this cliff on a pocket rocket. When I launched I saw how far it was to the ground so me being smart {SARCASTIc} I ditched the bike and started free falling. I woke up shortly after.
