Lucid Dream Tripping-- How?

I have total confidence in my ability to make lucid dreams happen now. I can even control my movement in them just fine and have a significant degree of control over the general locations. However, I am not quite where I really want to be. My big goal in lucid dreaming is to be able to create really, really bizarre circumstances at will and keep them going. In other words, I would like to create supersurreal worlds and make supersurreal things happen in them. This is very difficult to describe, but I will try. I have had many dreams where things were vividly in textures of impossible substances, had impossible relationships to each other, and were in almost a totally different metaphysical format from the waking world. I want to be able to create that and experience it for an hour at a time. I want to turn my dreams into Salvador Dali paintings in the forms of fast flashing psychedelic art films accompanied by a Pink Floyd laser light show, to make up down and within, to have seven dimensions, and to display insane changes and movements constantly happening. I want to feel bizarre spiritual awarenesses and see forms of significance that have nothing to do with the waking world as we know it. Another way to put it, but in a slightly metaphoric description, is that I want to have DMT trips in my dreams at will, but without the horror element. A lot of people have said that doing DMT one time, which I have not done, except for the DMT that occurs naturally in my body and makes crazy dreams possible, will provide a basis for having the experience in dreams. But there are so many external drug DMT horror stories that I don't want to experience that and have a bad scar that shows up in all of my lucid dreams that would have otherwise been great. Does anybody know how to do it without ever doing DMT?

I have been able to do this sort of thing for moments at a time in lucid dreams. It is just so difficult to even change the scenery at all in them, and making this ultra-psychedelic stuff happen is a monster of a challenge. I just really believe that lucid dreams are as unlimited as the imagination because lucid dreams ARE the imagination.

Any ideas or first hand knowledge?

EDIT: Another question I should add... If a person takes DMT and experiences a demonic nightmare on it, is there a way for him to create the experience in dreams and easily make it happen in positive way? In other words, can the brain learn the DMT trip format for phenomenal lucid dreams and know how to leave out the terror aspect of what was learned?

Please discuss whatever you might know or theorize about any of this. Thanks.

Wow, this is the most interesting drug I've ever read about. Perhaps the best way to go about creating this effect in a dream is to take DMT in a lucid dream. Make sure you determine exactly what your dream DMT effects are before you have the dream though, else it will probably be rubbish, and ye don't want that xD Anyway, I'd be extremely interested to hear your results, so if you could message me with any successes, or notify me of where I could read them, it'd be great, thanks.

You know, I haven't thought about this for a while - but I think you're right about DMT training the mind to have these experiences in dreams. Virtually every time I have a lucid dream, I will enter it through a intense, swirling vortex - very similar to the feeling of getting shot out of the ol' 'atomic cannon' that is DMT. I haven't even had a full breakthrough trip (not for lack of trying =D. It's hard to smoke!) so you don't need to go all out to have some effect on dreams. Of course the line between mild trip and full breakthrough is pretty fine with DMT :).

If you've had any experience with other psychedelics you can try taking them in huge doses in lucid dreams. "This mushroom is 100x strength" or "This is 10,000 mics of LSD". The trippiest event I've had in a dream is taking acid and watching a swirling vortex of random shapes, colours and sounds suck in the surroundings.

From what I've read about fucked up DMT trips, there is usually a lesson to be learned if you're willing to learn it. So I think you can turn it into something positive even before you get to the stage of integrating it into your dreams. If you're seriously thinking about taking DMT, I think you'll just have to accept that it is going to give you some terrifying experiences. If you can refrain from labelling it good or bad, and just accept whatever it gives you, you should be able to take something positive away from it. If I was you I'd go down to Peru and have a shaman guide you through an ayahuasca trip.

But,as I said, I've never had a full breakthrough trip, take what I say with a grain of salt. I'll let you know if I try it again.

The idea of taking DMT in your dream is actually a kind of cool thing. Just focus on the "positive" effects of the drug (easier said than done i suppose), but alwasy remmeber its a dream, and ntohing can harm you. You might be able to enjoy its effects based on your knowledge of it and not have any of the negative side effects. :hrm:

Ok, if you've ever tried DMT wich i suppose. ( I have not ) even though i have tried Acid.
To create a DMT-alike state in a dream is quite easy, since you have experienced it and not easily forgotten. Just do like this in the dream. Take a pipe from your pocket and imagine it's DMT in it, smoke it and because your brain has that stored in your memory, the brain will automatically react and imagine a DMT-alike state in your dream.

Personally i have Tripped Acid in a dream and it was exactly like in real life. the affects how you think, how you look at things etc. Just drop/smoke whatever drug you want ( that you have tried ) and go with the flow. hope this helps.

Thanks. The problem is that I have never taken DMT. I am trying to create the experience in my dreams based on my knowledge of it. However, I have been debating myself on this issue for about a year and a half now. I am very close to ordering the ingredients of ayahuasca brew containing DMT and drinking it. If I don't, I am always going to wonder and be very annoyed by the fact that I have not done it. I would much prefer to smoke DMT and have the ten minute trip instead of the 4-8 hour one, but I have no earthly idea how to find smokable DMT. There are only about five people in Mississippi who have even heard of it.

Even if I couldn't create exactly a DMT trip in my dreams, I would like to be able to make my lucid dreams hyperdimensional and supersurreal, which many of my non-lucid dreams have been. I know how to do it for short moments, but not really long ones. But, that is how I at first described my ability to have lucid dreams at all. There is a lot of hope. But even at that point, MY GOD I am curious about DMT!

If I recall right, Terence McKenna wrote that he could sometimes smoke DMT in his dreams and have the same bizarre experiences like he would smoke it in the waking life world.

I still haven't tried it though... DMT is on my todo list but way down below. The experiences I've allready read kinda scare me. I don't want to meet machine elves or other "peculiar" :D entities...

Also making the ayahuasca brew is not to be underestimate... Think of it as a "haute cuisine" soup.... You'll have to be damn good cook to brew it, or better in this case, a damn good shaman ;) If you decide to do it, do a lot of research! Cause if I recall right, brewing it in a metal pot can make the alkaloids inactive (I'm not sure though but I think I've read it somewhere).

I had dreams where I smoked marihuana and damn was I stoned in my dreams! Very interesting stuff imho... Too bad my lucid abilities are non-existing else I would try to eat shrooms in my dream.

I think that taking DMT to increase the surrealism of your LDs is a bad idea. If you want to emulate the experience while dreaming, watch a trippy movie, read accounts of others experiences, imagine what you think it would be like. Your brain can emulate the sensation of flying without ever having actually experienced it (among many other bizarre things) so why shouldn't it be able to create a reasonable imitation of a drug experience?

Just trust me on this one, you wont even get close to imagining what a DMT trip is like, even through reading countless trip reports. It&#39;s ummm... very far outside your frame of reference.

Oh I just rememered. Salvia is another very potent hallucinogen, sort of similar to DMT. It&#39;s probably legal in most of your countries (not mine :(). It&#39;s a lot more dissociative than DMT, and probably a bit more potent, but it has a similar time-frame and effects. Just.... please have a sitter if you take either.

That&#39;s a good analogy. I have done salvia divinorum a bunch of times, and I know that there is no way to create that experience in a dream just from reading about it. A lot of the experience defies description. That is exactly what McKenna says about DMT. I have watched my friends do salvia for the first time and afterwards asked them what the experience was like. Most people just sit there with a confused look and are speechless. I can give descriptions of the trips, but there are elements there that we just don&#39;t have words or analogies for. It scrambles your brain up in a very strange way, one that is completely alien to people who haven&#39;t been there.


I want to thank everybody who has posted in this thread. I have read all of it, and I will be thinking about all of it. To be realistic, I think the odds are pretty high that I am going to end up doing some DMT. It just frustrates me that what I can imagine and what I can have lucid dreams about are not all on the same page yet. Maybe DMT can change that? On the other hand, if I had been more disciplined with my lucid dreaming over the past few years, I might not have even raised this issue.

Yea salvia extract is legal over here. But yes...having a sitter is probably the best idea, (one who is sober of course). I&#39;ve never experienced it but the trips arent much longer than 20 minutes if that..(based on my knowledge of it)

As for not actually "taking" the drug in your dream...i guess taht depends on the control someone has over that particular lucid dream. Some people create a sort of "machine" using a wand that transforms them into animals ...so it sort of tricks the brain into thinking its a lot more probable to happen...and then they can "morph" whereas if they just thought about morphing it wouldnt work. So the actual action of taking a drug might help but i personally dont recommend trying a drug in real life just to experience it in a dream.....

Let me tell you this, you can _never_ imagine think you know the effect of a trip, every trip is diffrent, and the first time I tried acid, I thought i know what would happen and everything but I tell you this, it was waaay beyond of my expectations, you can&#39;t know a drug before you&#39;ve tried it.

Even tho based on your knowledge you can make a semi-alike-your-way DMT trip by smoking / drinking it in your dream. But if you make this in preparation-purpose.. don&#39;t, cuz then you&#39;ll be expecting the same / smiliar effect and be preset on that. And when it comes you&#39;ll be overwhealmed.

By the way. have you ever tried any other hallucinogens? cuz DMT is a HEAVY HEAVY hallucinogen, it&#39;s the hallucinogens rolce royce. The description I&#39;ve got from it was " Imagine droping TONS of acid, but during a shorter time of period.

So, if you haven&#39;t tried anything else i suggest try acid / magic mushrooms or something before.. for your own safety.
