I had my first LD last night. I've only been trying for about a week. I had a few vivid dreams and then I realized that I was dreaming. I don't know what made me realize it though. I was really exited but then I realized that if I didn't calm down, I would wake up. I forgot that I was dreaming and went on. Later I remembered that I was dreaming, and remained lucid for what felt like 15 minutes. I've heard that LD's are very realistic, but I was completely amazed at how real the dream felt. I really had to ask myself if I was dreaming. I noticed that there was no reason to be were I was (a random building that sort of looked like my gym class). I tried a couple of things like jumping, pinching my self (witch did hurt, I thought it wasn't supposed to hurt?), and I tried changing somethings (nothing happened and I didn't try too hard so that I wouldn't wake up). It was such an amazing experience, if felt kind of like everything just came into focus. I really can't believe that the mind can create such a realistic world.

congratulations, seems like a good first one. the drifting in and out of lucidity happens to me a lot, you just have to really evaluate the situation right when you become lucid.

congratulations. sounds like a pretty good first lucid. mind was pretty much the same, the realisticality (if thats a word) i mean.
i actually had my second lucid dream last night and my most vivid lucid dream/dream ever.

awesome. ive had the dream world come into focus like that too. it happened right when you became lucid right? it was cool. check to make sure its a dream by using a nose rc. just plug your nose and try to breathe in through it. you can breathe through it if its a dream!
oh yeah and i just made my 300th post woot!

Cool. I still haven't had a few vivid ones yet, but that sounds really cool. BTW, what did you try changing?
Oh, and you can feel pain in LDs. Well, sorta. If you fear it, you will feel it.
