This happened just last night and was not my first ld, but my most recent one. I was walking into this creepy tomb, down stairs that were very dark. I realised I was dreaming because it felt like a video game (in the back of my mind it was like you are playing legend of zelda) and that is one of my dream signs. I made the tomb be light and I entered a corridor with a twist at the end. I thought, when I turn that corner, someone I know will be there. What do you know, my friend (ex boyfriend) miles was there! I said i'm dreaming, I can do anything! out loud in the dream. He sort of nodded like he understood. I guess i'm sort of getting a crush on him again,or I just wanted to see what I could do while I was lucid, but i kissed him. After that, everything started to go blurry, and I forgot to spin to try to keep it focused. I woke up. This ld had the most control of all of mine. Usually I know I am dreaming, but can only do small things, like make monsters disappear, or make weapons appear.

From your description I can say that you are on the right track. Keep going! :)
The consistent appearance of dreamsigns of monsters and weapons is a manifestation of any computer games that you may have been playing? Usually, after some further practice, and more worldly experience, other realistic dreamsigns begin to appear.
It happens with time, and so long as you are in control of what you are doing in the LD, you are doing them right.

You seemed to have good recall and control so you're doing good. When trying to remain in the dream, rub your hands instead of spinning as in my experience its more reliable.
