I've been actively trying to achieve a stable LD for a couple of months (Iīve had spontaneous LDs all my life, but they only lasted a few seconds) and got it twice until now. The first one was a great experience for me.
I was dreaming I was in a big room with beautiful red stone walls. I donīt remember what was going on exactly, but for some reason I became lucid, and the dream started to fade as usual because of the excitement. This time though, I remembered something I had read in Internet about the tibetan drem yoga practices. The followers of those practices say that any meditation practiced in a dream is far more effective than practiced while awake. I practice a simple meditation all mornings, focusing on breath for ten minutes. So before the dream world disappeared completely, I sat down on the floor and tried to do exactly the same. The result was amazing! As soon as I focused my mind and tried to settle it down, the dream world did exactly the same, everything became more and more stable, until I found myself meditating in the middle of a perfectly quiet room. After a while, I decided to stand up again and slowly move through the place without letting myself lose that mental silence that you get after some minutes of meditation. So for the first time in my life I was in the middle of a dream perfectly conscious that I was dreaming and without waking up! The most amazing thing for me was that everything seemed MORE real than when Iīm awake, as if the colors were brighter and the walls more solid.
The room was quite boring, so I tried to get out. I saw something like emergency stairs out of a window. I went out and from the stairs tried to fly. I got it! I flied higher by flapping my arms, and found myself flying over the ruins of the Imperial Forum of Rome (I went there on holidays last October). It seemed more real than when I was there, itīs hard to explain. After a while I started to lose height slowly and couldnīt go up again, and the dream faded very slowly.
