I've read lots about lucid dreaming, dream recall, WILDs is what got my attention, I thought it was amazing to be able to just lay there and soon enough, wake into a dream.
Numerous times I have layed in bed, TV off, PC off, everything off, Fan running on Low (Very quite), and relaxed and comfortable.
Ill close my eyes, keep them closed for the longest time, think about being lucid, what its like, thinking about other thoughts in my head as well. But soon it seems as though my eyes start to slowly open, and I keep thinking maybe im starting to dream, or maybe my eyes are just opening, how can I really tell. It seems like if I close them to tight, im not relaxed, and to relaxed, then I'll just open them :(
Any Suggestions on how to get to a lucid dream for a first timer?

try the 3rd eye method... also make sure ur room is completely dark. Other than that, relax more maybe, concentrate on your breathing

My advice is if you can't do WILDs then do something more easier! I know that isn't what you want to hear but doing WILDs is very difficult for most people. I've tried several times and have gotten so close but never done it.
If you want to keep trying then completely relax, go to the toilet, make sure theres no family members or anyone other disturbances ect. Then just concentrate on going lucid, also be positive. It helps to not think about thinking if ya know what I mean

Thanks for the replies, maybe WILD's isn't my thing, I just felt that going lucid is an experience I want to get head on.
The 3rd eye method I've tried, but it seems I can only picture myself for so long, I start to see white blobs and blurs and I think of myself, sometimes I got so close I felt those vibrations and those white blurs covered my intire view, but thats as close as I have been.
Every dream I have had I can recall 95%, most the times everything, so I don't feel the need for a dream journal, but in all my dreams I've never done a test to see if I was really dreaming, thats why WILD's would seem so much easier to me.
