A few times I've had an experience where I'm getting close and the same thing happens. I still haven't actually gotten into an LD yet, but I found a way to stop the 'butterfly eye' effect.
For me, just concentrating fully on any sensation, visual, vibrations, whatever I'm experiencing, while vaguely trying to close my eyes, works. As long as I don't focus on it but still try to close them, it seems to go away.
By the way, funny title. I thought this was an experiencing where your eyes turned into butterflies! :lol:
Ya, I have the same exact problem. When it does happen tho I get a wicked sensation but of course an LD would be better.
