Hey, i stumbled across this website while searching about my dreams after telling someone about my dream problems..
I've been having weird dreams since around the age of 15 (i am now 21) i first noticed it when having re-occuring dreams of a screeching car coming louder (no vision just sound) one night while it was happening i realised it wasn't real and it was a dream so tried to stop it, which is where it all started i guess, i would be halfway through a dream and realise that i'm dreaming and pretty much do whatever i want, one of my earliest memories of this was floating around a cave and doing everything that i wanted to do in the cave,
My dreams would happen in similar places, in my kitchen, in a back garden to a scruffy house with lots of hills (never seen in reality), in an old b&b hotel (never seen in reality).
After a while they turned really bad, disturbing stuff happened i'd rather not say what they were, alot of the time my dreams end with me trying to break the dream repeatedly, by that i mean trying to open my eyes, thinking i'm now out of the dream then i go do something and realise that i'm still dreaming which will happen up to 10-20 times in a row.. last year i woke up with cuts on my eyes i'm guessing where i had been pulling at my eyes, Another dream which resulted in reality was one where i would get out of my bed and go turn my alarm clock on (my alarm clock was set before i went to bed) everytime i went to turn it on i'd realise i was dreaming and then suddenly be back in my bed thinking i had woke up and repeatedly done this untill i actually did wake up and my alarm clock had been pulled half way out of the socket which freaked me out alot.
A few times people have come into my room (in reality) like friends and woke me up and spoke to me, once for a full half an hour my friend was telling me about something and he said i was laying there talking back properly and then suddenly fell back asleep.
Like i said i cant say alot about my experiences since i'd rather not think about most of them but i noticed alot of people here do things like fireballs and summon odd stuff, i do not.. i've floated alot, made food, made love to my girlfriend, snowboarding, even swapped bodies to be someone else and i can control i'd say 80% of my dreams.
Anyway i decided to post some of my experiences here hopefully i can find some stuff here to help me cope with my dreams, i noticed some of you do stuff to help you go into "lucid dreaming" i'd like to not go into these kind of dreams, i do not try have these dreams or ever wanted to try, it has made me afraid to go to sleep and if anything i'd like to learn how to not have these dreams.
Lucid Dreaming is the closest thing i have heared about that comes close to what my dreams are like, if anyone has any links or anything to help me understand it or to make it less constant then i'd be more than greatful, Thanks.

I'm sorry I'm not an experienced Lucid dreamer but I've read one way of waking up from a dream: just relax, close your eyes and imagine you are in your bed...Maybe you've tried it but that's the only thing I can help you with...
Oh, and don't forget your dreams are the work of your brain, so that means you can practise to control them....

Yeah i've tried that, i guess i'm gonna have to learn to live with my dreams.. i wouldn't mind if they were happy dreams like alot posted here but most of them are not.

Well i'm kind of a newbie, but i think if you just give yourself something to say before you go to sleep (like when perfecting Dream Recall) it could help you.
Also i did read in another post that spinning can take you out of a dream or change. (there was also someone who snapped his fingers in a dream to wake up)

Wow, that seems pretty, rough... I used to have remotely similar experiences like that [but not anymore and not nearly as on the extreme as yours as I can assume are quite disturbing]. I was afraid to go to sleep and used to curse lucid dreaming, but then those dreams went away... if I only remember what caused that, then maybe I could be of more help...
Anyways, I'd be happy to see if I can find anything on re-occurring dreams like that, your dream life has been suffering for such a long time [as well as probably your health time to time since the healing of the body occurs in the REM phase were dreams and lucid dreams occur] and for how it sounds, anything that could get you closer to ending those dreams, even vaguely, is worth reading.
Closing your eyes and trying to change the scene when lucid can help you lose lucidity, that is, if you get caught up in that new scene, it's happened to me before so I know it does work, but then again, I probably have much less dream control than you. [Sorry, I'm not really much of a help...]
