Let's Talk About Flying...

Well I think that everyone, people who have been lucid and people who havn't, kno that flying is defedently the best thing u can do. I wanna kno your guys comments about flying. tell me anything to expirences, feelings u get, or anything! even post if u think that flying sucks major a$$. it's ur opinions...

Flying is basicly so good that i rather dream less often (i fly more than walk in my dreams), as it becomes quite boring and difficult to walk in everyday life while still having the fresh feeling of what it is like to be able to fly.

I fly just be willing to fly.
Interesting thing I've discovered : now while flying or running, I will myself to "zoom" into target. Everything around me turns blurry, and I feel my speed increase exponentially.
Next time I'm flying I'll fly to the center of the universe!

I will admit I have only ever tried to fly once and failed. Flying is on my list but it seems like there always something else to do and most of the time I don't have much time to try stuff. I am sure I will get around to it some time, but right not just doesn't seem that important.

Besides I never really saw anything great about flying. Walking around seems to be a lot more fun, most of the time.

I voted 'other', but it is very similar to Suuppperrrmmannn! I call it 'Peter Pan Stylee' (the extra e is very important!) in that i always have my right knee bent.

And like Ev, I just will myself to do so.

I just fly. Sometimes with my arms out front, Sometimes to the side like airplane wings, somtimes head-first.

Any way I do it is fun!

when i fly it's usually kinda "swimming-style" (like bend my knees and put my arms near my head, then extend all of my limbs) and i'm still not that good at it. i'm getting better though. i guessh it's kinda neo like. before i used to not even be able to do it half of the time, and still i couldn't even get that high up. but now at least when i jump up into the air, i at-least "coast" back down instead of just falling like normal.

I cannot seem to fly. The most I can do is Float about 20 feet off the ground. I try really really hard to fly and yet I cannot seem to Glide in the Air like others. I just float around like a feather in the wind. Pitiful huh?

no, not at all. u just have to kno that u can do it. just calmly say i'm gonna fly or whatever and start to fly (and believe that u can do it). U WILL GET IT SOON! :D do u become Lucid often??

Well its pretty low level when I am. All of my Lucid dreams are induced by some random activity that just unfolds while Im dreaming and I haven't been able to WILD except one time. Most of the dreams I have are usually pretty lucid but Im never in them. I always dream of other people I do not know and Im just watching them.

I voted other because I 've evolved from one style to another.

I use to jump getting higer and higher then just floating around with not much control. Now i just think about flying and i do it. I have great control and can do many tricks. I always fly when im lucid, its usually the first thing i do when i become lucid. I love it. Flying is something i've always been able to do in one form or another but now that i have some control when lucid i can improve my flying skills. I think i find it easy to do because there is no doubt in my mind. Maybe you just have to think you can and you will?

I use some kind of force. Cross between Dragonball Z/Jedi. When I go through the air fast I usually have the aura around me. And when first started trying to fly and when I'm closer to the ground I use my hands to manipulate myself.

I call it Peter Pan Style. I don't keep my arms in any specific position. I just fly, float, hover, etc wherever and however.

I chose "other" because superman flys with both arms up, neo flys with one arm up, I fly with both arms by my sides. I fly by willing myself to fly and at the same time using visualization. I also do what Ev does and "zoom into target" where I will run or fly at the speed of light through visualization. Everything goes blurry like tunnel vision, you see streaks of colours all around you and your at the destination within a second, it feels incredible!

I just... fly. I never leap, I just rise right off the ground without using my legs at all, vertically. Then when I'm hanging in the air (sometimes I also have to worry about balancing myself to avoid rolling head over toes, although I never actually lost balance yet) I choose a direction to fly toward. Sometimes I skip the "rising vertically" stage and fly right in the direction of my target diagonally. My position is like a regular standing or something, I don't extend my arms like superman... more neo-like probably.

When I do fly I can't remember much cause it never lasts more than a few seconds. I've flown twice lucid and both times I just shot into the sky so fast I left the lucidity behind and lost the dream.

I have many dreams of "assisted flying," here are the two most bizarre:

I am waterskiing over a city. The boat and line are invisible as are the skis. I am leaning back, holding on to the line and looking out over all the buildings.

I am trying to catch someone who had just robbed my family. I jump into the air and hover at rooftop level. I simply lean in the direction I want to go and I hover over. I start to lose my hover power and realize that the two washcloths that were stuck to the bottom of my feet were dried out and needed a recharge. I woke up while searching for a tap.

I've only flown properly, managing to stay in the air and have full control, once.

To get into the air, I take a short run up, then leap up high. Then, my right leg is lifted slightly, bent at the knee, with my foot close to my other leg...almost in a yoga 'tree' position. I just lean to go forwards or backwards, and move my arms in front of me to my left or right to turn.

I fly with a mix of Spider-man, Superman AND Neo, normally.. I tend to jump into the air like Spider-man jumping off a building, fly in a pose close to Neo, and move through the air like Superman. xD It's a bit hard to explain, really.

My flying style changes with what I feel like doing, what my goal is, and what I can accomplish. In my first LD, I was just kind of floating around a little bit, doing backflips and the like, is a DBZ-ish fashion. In my second LD, I decided to grow a set of wings off of my back, and take off that way. I've always thought it would be fun to have a big set of wings, but it didn't work out so nicely, partly because of low lucidity. Lately, I haven't really been able to fly, just leap 20 or 30 feet off the ground and float down, like really low gravity.

I voted for "superman" - but as observed - that may not be totally accurate. Getting in the air is pretty similar - the kinda one hand up, crouch, spring and STREEEATCH.

Once in the air, it really doesn't so much matter. I don't often give much thought to it. For me, thinking about it is a good wa to end-up in the dirt. ;)

Flying was one of my most common things to do in a dream when i was younger. I would take a running start and jump. If i was struggling i would normally 'airswim' freestyle throught the air. This was never the most effective way to fly. I can remember some dreams where i just flew, arms outstretched and 3 dreams inparticular i will never forget because i just flew where ever i wanted to. Looking back, i'm not sure if they were lucid or not, these were from over 10 years ago. My last LD was caused because I was running down a hill and started 'jumping' about 50 meters at a time down the hill.

The next time I LD I want to try and either: summon a broom and fly 'Harry Potter' style (I think that could be awesome fun) or fly just by willing myself while having arms and legs crossed.

the way i fly is hard to explain its a combination of using gravity control, wind and superman style. Its by far the most accurate method ive ever tried i can fly any were ive even been to the end of the universe.

It depends, I take a run up then take into the air, the moment I do I pretty much Neo it from there on... its like feeling you're walking on solid ground even though you're in the air. When I get myself into position and hover, I push my arms slightly forward like Superman then feel as if I'm being pushed forward by an invisible force under my feet, then the moment I begin to pick up speed I streamline my arms back like Neo.

Flying. The less you think about it, the better. The whole point is play and freedom. Whatever acrobatics you want to do? Do it.

Flying in a dream isn't very good for transporation. There are much better ways of accomplishing that, IMHO. I always end up getting distracted by something, flying too fast, or too slow, etc.

And Neo doesn't fly! He just sits on a stationary track while a background goes whizzing by. It's not even falling with style.
