Last night I was really tired.. actually tired all day. Took a few short naps during the day, then hit the hay at 9:30pm.

I layed down, intentionally trying to WILD. I caught myself a few times drifting, but refocused on my breathing. Seems every time I know I'm close, I get an itch somewhere. This time, I igorned it.

Normal stuff for me knowing I'm close. Images, sounds, real world sounds are no longer there, light flashes, etc... then boom, I'm in my dream. I think "ok.. here we go! Cool!"

This time I'm riding my ATV down our development road near my house. I know I'm at the end, though, because the roads ends in a culdesac. I stop because my main goal was to complete the TOTM (leprechaun).

Now, what was weird was when I stopped on the ATV, it felt like a bike, where you had to put your feet down. I thought, that's odd. Finally I said "oh screw it, I'm getting of and going leprechaun hunting" and I felt the ATV tip underneath me, like a bike would, while getting off. I remember thinking "I wonder if I'm moving IWL..."

So there I stand, in the end culdesac in our housing development. I try to will a leprechaun in... nope. Also, every few seconds I start rubbing my hands for clarity. (This really works well for me). I look around, trying to find one. I realize while I don't have total control, it's very vivid. I try to spin to change locations. Doesn't work. Hmmm.. I try to spin again.. nothing. And I find "closing my dream eyes" to spin a very weird feeling. (do we blink in our dreams? lol)

I start walking and try to shout out "I'm looking for a leprechaun dream character!" but I get that paralyzed feeling in my voice and it only comes out as a whisper. Then, to my left, a flatscreen monitor pops up out of the snowbank and turns on. I think "cool!" An image of a leprechaun appears and I suddenly awake (forgot to keep rubbing my hands).

Now, I really don't think this counts as completing the task, but I thought I'd share it... WILDing is pretty cool. I woke at 10:30pm frm this (only an hour after going to bed) and felt SOOOOO refreshed.

Wow it sounds like you really did succeed. Awesome man. I've only gotten to the begginnig stages of a WILD with sounds and feelings tingles and heat and I woek, but i felt I was close. Anyway, congrats. was this your first WILD? If so that is incredible, people struggle with this for a long time, its one of the harder methods. Anyway good job again

It was actually my 3rd or 4th WILD now (DILD'd for years, though). When I woke up, my whole body was tingling really hard! It was a weird feeling. I went back to sleep to try it again, but "missed the spot" and just fell asleep. I normally don't have HI before I WILD. But after waking and trying to WILD again the HI is intense, but I haven't done two WILDs in a row yet.

My secret? It's being just the right amount of tired, and having the willpower to "stay alert". Listen to your breathing. That is what keeps me awake. I find that 20% of the time I go right into a dream. The other 80% of the time I just fall asleep. I attribute this to I wasn't "ready to dream". Hard to explain.

I find in a WILD, compared to a DILD, I'm normally in VERY familiar surroundings. I can remember everything from the waking life. I can remember to rub my hands, spin, do the TOTM, etc. IT's really cool and amazing. DILDs, I normally don't have as much recall of waking memories and just realize I'm dreaming and do cool stuff. But, I have found since WILDing it's getting easier to stay lucid in a DILD, and rub my hands, etc.

Last night's WILD was pretty cool. I went from listening to my breathing, to driving my ATV very slowly down our street. it was just "BAM" I was there. I said "cool, I'm WILDing" and started rubbing my hands together as the clarity increased. I kept thinking "I hope I'm not doingn that IWL because my wife will nudge me and I'll wake up..."

I won't ever spin again in a dream, I think that made things worse. It was hard to reopen my eyes the second time and I think that attributed to me waking up only after about 10 minutes in the WILD.

I'm very glad that you achieved WILD. They are pretty hard to master, sometimes, but it seems like you have mastered it. Congratulations, and keep up the good work.

awesome wild man. wild is my favorite technic i find that recalling wilds is much better than other methods. it feels like i just had the experience rather than the distant memory dilds sometimes get. congrats
