1st Ld Since Joining

So I got A DILD today during a nap. It didnt last very long, but its my first since joining about a week ago. I have been trying MILD and WILD this week, but havent gotten anything from them. Im sure I just need some more practice. Anyway I have been doing RCs pretty consistently. This time I decided to go to sleep and repeat that i would remember to become lucid. After falling asleep the next thing I know I decide to just look at my right hand. it had at least 7 fingers on it and bam sweet lucidity. I have read alot about people getting too excited after attaining lucidity and i guess my subconscious decided to capitalize on that and I ended up getting real excited and falsely awakening :( So now instead of doing a RC like I should have upon waking up, I instead feel sorry for myself and try to get back to sleep. For the rest of my dream, which was pretty long form what I remember I toss and turn trying to get to sleep.

So Im excited that I got a LD within a week of trying, but disappointed that i was so easily tricked by the dreamworld. oh well, I will just keep workin on my RCs. better luck next time

yeah that's tricky and annoying. always do a simple check when you wake up.

Congratulations on the lucid.
I've been having that same feeling. One of being overwhelmed upon becoming lucid.
I learned to pass that, it still happens from time to time and results in a few second long lucid's every once in a while.
You may want to try a technique to enter a dream while awake. WILD, DEILD, VILD, things like that are easy to do and you enter the dream while aware and awake so you can't get all excited really fast and wake up.
