      Nightmares ruined this Monday

I almost forgot how terrorizing they can be...

      dreams...

During the last months, I gradually improved my dream recall and could slowly increase my LD frequency. But this was the first time since very long that I suffered from a night full of frightning nightmares. Which make me wish that my dream recall was as bad as it used to be.

The last and most memorable dream was all about the transition from the living world to realm of death and back, which became possible in a very frightning place by some kind of misguided scientist who was using a high voltage apparatus for the transition and me as a guinea pig. Don't laugh. It looked like a horror flick from the first half of the last - but it looked, smelt and felt very realistic.

When I have nightmares like that, I feel in the morning that my day is already completely ruined. Does anyone else also has this problem ?

And why the f*** did I not recognize this bullshit as a dream ?

Somehow, I don't feel like going to bed tonight at all.
      Sleep well and prosper.

Nightmares always mean something, as far as I'm concerned. As to what they mean? Well, the only that can ever really know is you. My nightmares represent themselves in the form of fucked up social situations that end in me getting screwed(they usually involve my ex, right now), but since I have an anxiety disorder, I've always had this sort of "class" of "nightmares". They even cause me to wake up having anxiety attacks sometimes(said this before..), and that really fucking sucks. I just try and resolve the conflicts while in dreaming. I have to face my stupid fears in my dreams, and my reality.

      Thank you for your suggestions.

Anxiety dreams I can deal with, they are far more common and I can often see some connection to my waking life problems. Also, they don't disturb me during the day after the nightmare. What really sucks are those horror-movie kind of nightmares. They happen rarely and I usually don't see any links to my life at all. (Besides trivia, like being afraid of darkness, pain and death - who is not ?). I think when I want to solve this issue, I will need lucidity.
      Sleep well and prosper.

I believe your right, will need lucidity to conquer your nightmare. Once your aware it is a nightmare... well... it's not really as frightening.

I hear that. Those are very frustrating

Maybe try listening to some soothing music while going to sleep?
As much as you tell yourself that you're not going to let these ruin your day, they still end up bubbling up to the surface, or just 'cause an overall bad mood that won't go away.
