Well I just discovered this website randomly today and thought it was pretty interesting because I've been having crazy lucid experiences for years. I was reading some of the posts on the forum and thought I might share my story a little bit for those who're interested.

Lucid dreaming for me has sort of evolved over time. The start of everything was when I was around 11 or 12 years old. Back in those days, I was watching way too much Dragonball Z, and I had this dream where some made up DBZ bad guy was taking over the world and I happened to run into him. Instead of getting scared or anything I just started laughing hysterically in his face. When I finally collected myself, I said in crappy DBZ dialogue, "Hahaha you fool, do you know who I am? I'm the most POWERFUL person in the world!!!". I then proceeded to kick his ass.

Now it wasn't a lucid dream, just a really sweet one. But it made me realize that if I had the confidence, I could do anything I wanted in my dreams.

When I was 13 or 14, I found out all that stuff about becoming self aware and how to trick my mind into doing certain things in my dreams. Since it was the beginning of highschool, it was the beginning of girls and all that jazz. My favorite lucid dream trick, was to go into my house (or whoevers house, it didn't matter), go into the bathroom, and turn on the shower. Next thing I did was go outside the bathroom and close the door. Then i'd knock on it and say, "[insert girls name], are you in there?" They always would be, then i'd go inside and bang them.

I did a research paper at some point on dreams and learned some more tricks. When I was 17 and 18 I'd say was the golden age of lucid dreams for me. I was starting to act kind of emo and my dreams would revolve around saving girls rather than boning them. Because of this, my dreams always had some plot and there was always some kind of mission that I was on. Basically every dream I had that I was aware in, instead of controlling the dream and just messing around, I put myself back in this story. I made bag guys appear so I could fight them. I've met recurring characters and been to some places over and over again, all part of this long plot.

It was sort of like a tv show or something and every episode, I learned new tricks and fighting skills. First I learned random kungfu jazz. Next I learned how to run really fast and jump ridiculously high. Then I learned how to run on walls which is actually really sweet.

Freshman year of college, I was getting kind of depressed from some things. My dreams were dark. I dreamt that demons from hell were trying to seduce me, like in star wars: dark-side style. Soon, the "story" was that I was a demon, who somehow hung onto his sanity and was trying to use my dark powers to save my loved ones. The story continued...

Over the course of the next few years I learned a few more skills. Now I can finally fly. I also recently learned how to sort of teleport short distances and put stuff in slow motion. I'm now trying to learn how to shoot fireballs (done it only once or twice) and perfect flying (I can't fly past a certain height and if I fall into water then i'm screwed and can't fly out).

In summary my lucid dreaming up to this point began with thinking I was sweet in one dream and spending most of my lucid dreams in some ridiculous action adventure movie. I've learned a bunch of badass powers since then and I haven't had a nightmare since either because most of these powers and sometimes the story transfer over into nonlucid dreaming.

Wow!! that's pretty damn awesome!! I'm just new to the whole lucid dreaming thing and haven't had any so far. Do you have any advice for a new guy? It would be great if you could tell me some of the techniques you use?? or do you even have to do anything? (e.g. reality check, MILD, WILD???) anyways thanks!!!

Well most of the basics are posted on this site.

But most importantly is to realize that youre dreaming. Usually I just see something ridiculous happen and I'm like, "pshhh, thats not real, this is a dream!" So I'm usually kind of skeptical of my reality. And if you aren't sure, try something you know couldn't happen in a dream.

Go interrogate a stranger and see how they react. Sometimes i've straight up asked people if I were dreaming and as long as they didn't ask me if I was on crack, then i was pretty sure it was a dream
