Is it possible to have a dream about lucid dreaming?

Ok so recently within the week I have been testing around with lucid aids(mp3s) and such, but nothing seemed to work, i usually couldnt sleep, or i would just have a normal dream..

anyways, im in class, 5th period, it's around...11:30 or so and im really tired so i decided to take a nap..now the dream

The last thing i remember is being in the back seat of a van with some people(dont remember who)..all of a sudden I realise its a dream, we arrive at some place, i had no concern or care to what it was since it didnt matter, i just wanted to do some lucid stuff.anyways i remember it being very hard to..move myself, it felt as if i was halfway paralyzed INSIDE the dream, so it was hard to hold my balance or move..anyways i start to slightly move..to test my lucidness i do some lame thing, i try and make..a ball of energy out of my hands, like on dragon ball z...lame i know, just wanted to test, anyways I looked at my hands and all i saw was like my hands glowing all firey but no ball, so i gave up on that and decided i really wanted to fly. I give it a shot thinking im just gonna gaze over the sky and bam im launched like 5,000 feet in the sky.. Im falling very fast but i was so high up it was like an endless fall, it was very dark out and to my right i can slightly see a giant ship, didnt mean much in the dream, and i remember barely being able to move my body as im falling, i think it was because i was falling so fast i couldnt really turn or anything..that and i still felt very 'halfway paralyzed', like i didnt have FULL lucid control, and then i woke up..

anyways..im not sure if this was a dream ABOUT me wanting to lucid dream, or me actually lucid dreaming, the dream was VERY short but i remmeber the places pretty well, not sure if you can dream about lucid dreaming, but just wondering.
what i mean is im not sure if i was actually LUCID doing these things, or if i was just thinking about it so much while i was awake that i fantasized about it happening in a dream..not sure how to tell.

but man flying was awesome.

Rule of thumb: If you realise you're dreaming, it's a lucid dream. If you don't, it's not. There are different levels of control and vividness though. You realised, so it was lucid.

I'm not sure what the being halfway paralysed means though. It's not uncommon to not be able to walk in dreams. Was that it, or did you feel like your sleeping body was paralysed, and it sorta carried over into the dream?

i'm not fully sure, it was just like it was hard as hell to move, im thinking that the "sleeping body was paralysed, and it sorta carried over into the dream" thing might have been it, cause as it ended, i felt being back in the classroom, but i still was paralyzed for a few seconds till i coul finally move..

does it mean anything?

I had a very similar experience the other night. In one dream I seemed to realize that I was dreaming, looked at my hands to try to gain control, and lost lucidity THREE TIMES within a few minutes (!), and like you said it seemed like a dream about a lucid dream. Kinda hard to explain... It was pretty strange and frustrating considering that I had three opportunities to have an LD but for some reason it didn't happen.
Maybe it's just that your sense of awareness was right at the threshold needed for a decent LD.

Yes, you can have dreams about lucid dreaming. I've done so a number of times myself, both lucidly and non. But you weren't just dreaming about LDing, your were dreaming lucidly, even if only on a low level.

Like others have said, if you decide you are dreaming then you have become lucid. However, if you only think - or suspect - yourself to be dreaming but never quite reach the firm conclusion that you actually are then you are considered to be "semi-lucid" or "pre-lucid". But I'd say you probably already had your foot through the door.
