I heard about reality checking and dream journals in grade school. The impression I got then was that it was just a funny hobby some people had. I didn't discover the potential of lucid dreaming until in this my 21st year. Is this common? |

It is probably common, because when I was younger I thought it was a bit silly, too.I heard about reality checking and dream journals in grade school. The impression I got then was that it was just a funny hobby some people had. I didn't discover the potential of lucid dreaming until in this my 21st year. Is this common?

I've been trying the reality check method, and last night I managed to become lucid, but I would either wake up or have a false awakening.

Congratulations on your first "controlled" lucid dream!
Many "experienced" lucid dreamers still have problems transporting themselves somewhere or have never accomplished that feat!
Way to go!
