Another lucid experience, though not a dream and not fun.

Last night I tried the body relaxation method while meditating on "The next activity will be in a dream" Toes sinking into the bed, then calves, thighs, hips, etc. You know the routine. So as I started falling asleep, I remained totally conscious, and saw swirling grey fog on a black background, felt the paralysis happen, and was unable to move for a while, then started hearing dreamlike, nonsense talking, and I realized that these were the stages on the way to dreaming, and it was so boring, and I just wished I could wake up, it seemed like 5 hours, then my elbow was in a strange position and it started to hurt, so I woke up, and it was only like ten minutes passed, but it was so boring, and I had NO control, NO imagery except swirling black and blacker mist, and only nonsense auditory hallucinations. I would not recommend getting in a state like that. Then, I started falling asleep again, and remained lucid until I started hearing things, and then I lost lucidity, mercifully.

Excellent observation. I have done this exact meditation many times. This may not seem that great but its just a start. You were aware but fully asleep. You were sleeping but not dreaming. This is how i remember some experiences. Now just mix that awareness with a dream and its on.

Keep trying that i guarantee its opening some doors in that head of yours.
