To free another.

I finished my tasks in EVE, (the game I play) it was around 2am. I went downstairs got a drink of water and went outside, the pale light of the moon was very bright, I could not see the moon as it was hidden behind some trees, but I knew it was nearing being full. I stepped into the light and stood there admiring the satelite that so many take for granted. I went back inside and then lay down to sleep. Tonight I would dream and I knew it.

An office, more specifically an office I shouldent be in, There were documents in my hand, shit whad I get myself into now. Some one was coming, I jumped on the desk popped out a ceiling tile and using the corners of the office walls climbed up into the crawl space, replacing the tile and waiting motionless. The person entered the office and left. Ok now to get the hell out of here. I should be able to get out without too much notice, but not up here, too little to safely stand on. I climbed back down into the office and darted out when the time was right, no one in the hall, perfect. I made my way out of the building, it reminded me of Intel, where I work in a way. I even saw my boss, and like in this world he barely acnoledged my presence. I was nearly out and I passed a woman, she looked at me and screamed... I dont know what she saw or why she screamed at me. I ran down the hall

Discontinuity.

I dont know or remember what happened exactly, I was still trying to escape the building but I now had a power suit on, it reminded me of Samus's suit from metroid, arm cannon and all. I was with a friend now, and people were chasing us, alams had been triggered. Another person in a power suit rounded a corner, using the arm cannon was a matter of aiming and will, the suit "knew". My friend got shot, but the damage was minimal, I jumped and spun, took a few quick shots to slow the persuer and ducked around a corner. My friend laughed "I guess playing videogames pays off here huh?" I was busy though, I steadied my stance and charged the cannon, waiting for the persuer to round the corner to us, the person appeared as I predicted and I loosed the charged blast, it threw me through a wall... and it looked like the persuer had no dmagae whatsoever... Not good, something wasnt right, the rules were being bent and not in my favor. No matter... I would win regardless the odds. I lunged back up and tackled the persuer and I did what I knew would work, never trust a plasma weapon.... The tackle turned into a roll, but I was the one ready not my combattant, I grabbed his ankle and swung him like a rag doll, the suit made one incredibly strong, its mechanisms looked like muscles, Big ones at that. I smashed my opponent into a wall and into the ground several times, I head the suit dent and crack as I smashed the person into the ground. I stopped, and my friend got up and took the persons helmet off, it was a girl, I dont know who she was I had never seen her before, she was alive but the suit was now trapping her. Her suit was a yellow collor mine blue my friends orange. My friend said "So she is the virus? its amazing how much havoc they can wreak in the system" Well we still have to destroy the files I thought.

Discontinuity

The three of us were standing outside now on a rooftop, the files were in a container and I was melting them it was a frothy white with bright yellow mingling in it. She was looking at me... as the last of the files melted I stirred them around with a metal rod and said "There its done..."
Her eyes were digging holes into me, I looked up and met her gaze and she began.

"What if it was not a virus in the system"

I stirred the files for good measure, I was nervous too and the rod hit something solid.. the mixture began to take form, a mask I think.

"What if it was you that was causing all of this, what if you were the one changing things"

It hit me hard. I was dreaming and the dream was stable... I looked back up into her eyes, she had to be real, she knew it was a dream, but she didnt say it outright, she let me figure it out on my own only giving me enough of a hint, she had awakened me I was fully lucid. I wanted to thank her but she vanished so did my friend. I was alone. I flew up off the building a ways superman style, it took me a few minuts to figure it out, I thought about time and wondered how much of it was passing in the real world then didnt really care, I wanted to stay. I landed a little ways off, it took a little out of me trying to figure out how to fly, once I had it right it took nearly no energy but I was still out of breath. It was a junkyard of sorts and there were people there I touched someting i shoudl not have, it was some kind of relic I think holy to these people, and now they were intent on killing me.. What the hell, why was everyone always so angry and trying to take me out!? I fought hand to hand, but there was too many.

I thought... I could use some help, I wonder how much better I would fare with two of me.

There was a flash of light and there was another me standing next to me. But he didnt look exactly like me... it was odd, it was a younger me but with somewhat altered facial structure, a bit chunkier too. I was curious now, I pulled my perception out so I could look at myself as well, and sure enough I looked just as my clone did. He said "Damn were good, lets get to kicking ass" The people attacking had stopped for a moment as the appearance of my clone scared the shit out of them, but they were back at it.

My clone and I made short work of them, we knew what the other was going to do and could plan attacks and along with having the enhanced awareness we were unstoppable, we didnt kill anyone, just disabled. I decided it was time to go, My clone and I flew up into the air, the remaining people fled in fearsome stared at us in wonder, I looked at my clone and he nodded smiled and vanished.

I took in my surroundings it was dusk and very nice out. I noticed the full moon near the horizon and I remembereed seekers thread about zooming to stuff and going to the moon. I wondered if it would be more peacefull there.

I zoomed twards it, I didnt look behind me though thought that might be a bad idea, it took a few moments, but its features cleared as I left earths atmosphere, the blue of the sky faded to black as well, and it ballooned up and filled my vision, I could see its very thin atmosphere, I wasnt sure if this was the moon anymore but how do I land, I was in orbit? everything was so small how could my imagination be powerful enough to take what I saw now a view from orbit and then land on it... I spun myself around so my feet were facing the planet... I got dizzy and got a huge sense of vertigo, I looked up and could see the blue green and white gem that was earth.

I focused on the planetoid below me now, and dropped to its surface, there was a structure there, I wondered if I was by chance landing near the old lunar lander site! as I closed in I realised it was a complex, and there was activity... so much for being alone. Small robots scuttled about the dusty surface, my shoes were covered in grey dust, it was silent... dead silent... I walked to one of the bubble structures and peered inside, there was a soldier sitting in a chair, he had an m16 in his lap, he saw me and freaked, grabbing at his gun, I was outside in vacuum he had every reason to flip out... I pantomimed to him quickly... Ease down, I pointed at the dome and then his gun, then to myself I opened my mouth and inhaled then pointed at him and shook my head. He got the message, and he calmed a bit, I was outside so that gave him a sense of security from the hallucination he must be seeing that was me. I pointed at my shoulder then to his which had an american flag I gave him the thumbs up and smiled, this seemed to calm him a little more. At least he wasnt going to shoot out the dome and get himself killed now. I mouthed to him, "can I please come in" he nodded slowly and an airlock opened in another dome nearby, I entered and the airlock cycled... HOL-E-SHIT... that sucked... I felt as if I wsa being crushed, my lungs felt like they were going to collapse and my ears hurt like hell. I thought goddammit I was just breathing in vacuum why does my sense of the real and scientific kick in now.

I took my shoes off and placed them near countless other boots. As I entered the main bubble people were all staring at me, there were soldiers, and civilians, even children...One of them finaly said... "how... whats going on.. what are you"

I looked at them... how could I explain something like this... I was dreaming... Then I rememberd the woman that help free me. It was up to each of them to realise as it was up to me.

I looked down at my feet, my socks were filthy covered in moon dust now almost a mud, using my feet I took one pair of socks off, another appeared on my feet instantly just as muddy, The people around me watched... their eyes wide some afraid some obviously trying to figure it out. I repeated this three more times and then finaly no more socks appeared, and my feet were an iridecent/ opalecent blue color. One of the little kids he was probably around 10 or so looked up and into my eyes.

"Its a dream isisnt it..."

I could see the realisation in his eyes, he understood.
I then said, but here is the hard part..."Its my dream"
The boy looked afraid, "then that means...that I'm not alive?"
What could I say, I felt like such an asshole, how could I have done somehting like that. in retrospect I so wished I could go back and tell him, that just because I was dreaming, didnt mean that he was dreaming and could wake up as well... but I couldent get back...
I put my hand on his shoulder, and I slowly shook my head no. He looked down and then back up at me his eyes alight.
"But because of what youve done... I am alive right now arent I"
I smiled and nodded
He looked very happy "I thank you for that"

We walked around and we came to a door, I opened it and there was a grassy hillside, the boy looked back at the small lifedome, it was all he had known, would have known. He smiled, thanked me again and stepped though the door. I think He was a construct, but at that moment in time, he was alive and real, an exhilirating joy filled my entire being like pure light strangely it was a humbling experience because I was just like the boy. I hoped he would wake up some where.

My mind is still reeling over this over what I did and what it means. Even though the boy said it outloud that it was a dream, the others did not even seem to hear. I have found a mission now, I will try to help free as many others as I can, as that woman helped me.

Wow, thats cool seri... Its also something i've been thinking about, about people in your dream and stuff... Are they just like whatever object you can summon only these move and make sounds or do they somehow have/share your psyche, do they do the things they do because you think they're gonna do that (sometimes) or does your subconcious take controll of them, or something else....

it is an interesting topic.. to think if that boy was a construct created by my mind then that means the mind has the capability to split itself into separate entities each being self aware.

Thoush i suppose those with Multiple personality disorder deal with that all the time

Yeah that crossed my mind aswell. If I ever get stuck in a lucid dream *crosses fingers and hopes* I'm gonna chat to a couple of dream characters... and summon me own subconcious and work something out with myself :P

Do you think we will ever free "the one"? :-P

Interesting, once i met a friend of mine in the dream and told him he is just a product of my mind.. cause it was all a dream. His response was that he wanted to return to my physical body and take it over.. after some chasing i did manage to wake up and preserve my body :).
