Yes.
Both lead to the same thing - lucidity. So, the end result is the same. It's the difference between making the trip part of the fun, or just getting to your destination.
Do you want to ride your bike to the store, or take the Ferrari?
Well, TJ, WILDs usually lead to very vivid LDs, while with DILDs it can vary greatly. Then again, achieving a WILD is a lot harder to most people.
This may be in your own experience. Vividness can be altered once one becomes lucid. It's a factor that comes into play while you're dreaming, not before.Quote:

Regarding it being difficult, it depends on the individual and their efforts. Once difference about WILD and DILD is that the dreamer actually has some control as to becoming lucid during WILD - where a DILD relies on the chance that the dreamer will recognize a dreamsign or perform a reality check.
Actually not in my own experience at all. I have never had an LD. I've been having information and experiences thrown at my head about them for the last year and a half, so I can say pretty safely that most people find WILDs to generally lead to vivid LDs. Although the vividity may decline, which is always a possibility.
I'm not trying to get one right now, no. A year of not getting LDs tends to make you give up. I haven't been trying for quite a while.
I'm quite something different though. I cannot get DILDs, as far as I know. I won't go into detail on that one.
