Yes eating in ld's can be very satisfying i have eaten fresh bread which tasted great (and very fresh) and also i was in asda and i eat some grapes but i can't remember what they tasted like but i remember thinking they tasted good when waking up.

I have so many other things om my mind when lucid that food hardly crosses my mind but i am going to start eating more in ld's.

Yes; this comes up fairly often--I do it all the time now and it is just like in real life, usually. Food is a dream sign for me too, so sometimes just seeing or smelling something in a dream will get me lucid. It seems like the more I do this, the more frequent it happens, so....get started! I really enjoy it especially when I am avoiding sweets and stuff IRL.

In a lucid dream I had recently I tried making food fly and catch it with my tongue chameleon-style, but the only thing I could summon were M&M's. I remember thinking to myself that they tasted exactly alike, but only if I paid attention.

LOL, great first post MixedMan! to DreamViews! I assume you mean they tasted the same as in real life, because I never noticed one M&M tasting different from another! :p

      Enjoy yourself here!

I ate a chocolate chip french fry before. It was pretty good, tasted mainly like salt, but it was good. I had Ice cream a couple nights ago which had a weird bland flavor. Usually after I eat in dreams, I wake up with no appetite...

      Even food you dislike...

Yeah, last night was my first LD but I apparently had no dream control whatsoever. I should have been flying around but instead I ate scrambled eggs and sushi.

I didn't want to eat these things. I'm vegan. So this was a bummer. I need to work on dream control.

But as for your question, yes they tasted real. I think anything we've ever tasted in real life, we have access to that sense stored away somewhere in our brains. That's probably why we can taste dream food.

In my 2nd complete lucid, my mom made me eat dinner. I was thinking, oh well I'll go along with it to see what eating is like.

So then I ate some cherry ice cream for dinner and it was bomb. haha

      I've eaten before.
It was some grapes and before I ate them I imagined what the best tasting grape would be like and boom, it was so crunchy and sweet.
Now all the grapes i eat in real life wont taste as good.

I've eaten many things and I remember clearly it was not the same as eating in the waking world. I could defintely feel the texture and I could "taste" the general jest like salty, bitter, etc, but there was no flavor. It's happened like 3 times to me and after waking I wouldn't feel hungry.

I wonder what would happen if I tried eating a food I am allergic to (peanuts) in a lucid dream?

It's certainly a different experience, especially when you get full.

I've also eaten things I would never eat in real life, like tape for instance. I've only ever felt as if I wasnt really eating anything but only tasting it.

One of the earliest dreams I can remember was when I ate a can of worms for no apparent reason. I was about 5-6 at the time, and I think I had just seen a cartoon or movie on TV where some monsters ate worms, so in my dream I opened up a can of them and plopped 'em right in my mouth! They tasted horrible! I remember still being able to taste them in my mouth the next day. For some reason that was a really vivid dream.
