Sound distortment during sp

One night I slep with the radio one then went to sleep my mind was dreamless that night and I was about 12 yrs old when this happened. Anyways I slept for about 3 or 4 hours then woke up went to the bathroom and came back. Was only up for a few moments. I layed down to go to sleep and about 2 mins later.. I began hearing something out of the ordinary. Loud screeching noise and messed up electronics coming from the radio. I opened my eyes and as soon as I did. The radio was back to normal. lol. I wasn't scared or anything was just wondering what that noise was. Then went back ta sleep. This time I drifted into SP I tried to stop it but it was too late. As I lay there the distortment returned. The screeching and distorted game sounds. I didn't bother trying to move cause I already flet it over my body. The sound got louder and the louder it got the more distorted and bazerked it sounded. I freaked me out So I started fighting with it. failed. I started seeing dark floating images. At that time I fought with all my might and busted free. But in that process knocked the radio off my bed and busted the speakers. But still that was a scary experiance.:eek:

What you experienced was hypnagogia. Distortion of sounds is common with SP. Moreover, since you basically performed a WBTB, the probability of SP as the culprit is very high.

Some people get it, others don't. Most likely your brain picked up on the radio and decided to screw around with it. I sleep with earplugs, so I don't often get anything like that when slipping into SP.
