      A Dream about Lucid Dreaming

      hey everyone,
this is my first post on this forum but I have been reading it for about 2 weeks now and have one (maybe 2) LDs in that time. I'll just get right into my experience.

I was dreaming about being chased by zombies or something and then all the normal people took refuge in a 711 that was blocked off with a wall of pepsi cans and so we all went to an underground bunker where we went to sleep. I then was having a dream in my dream and I realized that it was a dream and became lucid. But I'm not able to determine whether I was actually consciously lucid or just dreaming about being lucid. In the dream I realized I was dreaming so I rubbed my hands together and stuff and just kind of enjoyed being lucid without it fading away like my other (real) LD did. The reason I don't think I was actually lucid is because the only things I did were a couple of cool magic tricks for my friends (DCs) like levitating and stuff and if I were consciously lucid I probably would have wanted to fly into outer space or walk through a mirror or something. Also, I thought that my real waking life was the one in which zombies were taking over the world. I even thought that this dream world I was in was possibly the after life and I was dead from the zombies. I told my DCs that we were dreaming and proved it to them by telling them that the zombies attacked today and we were all sleeping in the 711 at that moment. This is when the dream started fading so I tried rubbing my hands together and yelling and stuff but I suddenly found myself awake in my bed at 4:30 in the morning.

At first I was excited that I had an LD but then I started to realize that I didn't feel like I had total control but rather my dream self was controlling the dream. Also it occurred after I went to bed for the night without WBTBing or anything. Whenever I think about the dream I get kind of a weird feeling and it's had a little bit of a lasting effect on me for some reason. I was just wondering if anything similar has happened to anyone else and what your thoughts were.

G Lounge, welcome to DV forum!

If you poke around and read other posts you will find lots of examples of the dreaming mind pulling tricks like the one you just related. For some unfathomable reason our dream self engages in every subterfuge to try to keep our waking awareness from messing with its turf.

I really liked the part where you proved to your DCs that you were dreaming by telling them about the zombies . Better luck next time. Nemo

I get this all the time too. It kind of makes me mad that I dont get lucid...

      Heres a story too:

I've got one main goal to do in a Lucid Dream. It's to get a sweet car and drive it around! Simple enough, but its tough. Like the last dream I had, I was so close. I was going to do this (I'm not sure if I was lucid) but I wanted to race a car around. Instead of finding a road (It never came in mind) I started building a track that I could race on. The catch was that it was very small and I was taking slabs of wood and putting them on a platform...

Kind of funny how I didn't realise in a dream that I could just use a road. I guess it's just because your logic is turned off...

It's quite amazing how what you think about during the day and what you want to do in your dreams can come true!

      Exclamation I get it now.

I'm glad that I just read this. I've been actively lucid dreaming for about 2 months now and I've had 2 lucid dreams so far. Well, now I'm thinking it was only one. Last night was my second "lucid dream." It sounded exactly like that in that I didn't start to wake up like the first time i became lucid. I actually wasn't even that excited. I mean, of course it was incredibly fun but something about it just didn't feel like a lucid dream. I thought that I may have dreamt that I was lucid but until reading this I didn't know that it was even possible. I'm kind of disapointed now though. At least it was still a badass dream.
