Somewhat lucid without knowing it was a dream

I know the title seems oxymoronic, but anyway, here is the dream... I was by a lake, and there were lots of large frogs beside the shore. I was catching the frogs with my brother. I knew it was not real, but I thought I was daydreaming in bed, instead of dreaming. I was going to go do something else after I caught a big frog, and then I realized that it didn't make any sense that I was daydreaming. I realized that I was dreaming, then plugged my nose and could still breathe. Then, right away, the dream began to fade. I tried rubbing my hands together and focusing on the detail of the ground, but it didn't work and I woke up.

It sucks when you wake early from a lucid dream. When you woke did you try to fall back into the dream?

No, I had to get up in 15 minutes anyway. Just enough time to write it down. It almost seemed like my body didn't want me to know I was dreaming. It was fine when I thought it was a daydream, but as soon as I realized I was dreaming, it started to fade.
