      Reading Someone Else's Dream Journal

      K Question!
Would reading someone else's DJ increase your chances of LDing? And I mean besides the fact that having your mind focused on LDing during waking life can help you LD... I mean like seeing how others have recognized when they have been dreaming and applying that to how you sleep? Or is it that everyone is TOO individualized and the way one person recognizes sleep is TOO different from another person and it wouldn't do any good?

      Just wondering...

I think it helps a lot in a number of ways. It teaches us what it "feels like," more or less, it shows us what is possible, and the really fun ones, (like Oneironaut's and Clairity's, for a couple examples,) are very motivational!

Reading others journals is also a great way to keep lucid dreaming in mind.

Yeh funny you should say that because i am going to do that in a bit because i am going to try WBTB and i want my mind to be focused 100% on lucid dreaming. I have not had a lucid dream for a cople of nights because i have been getting up early and ging to bed late so not enough sleep so i am going to see if this brings any success.

The hardest part of this will be getting to sleep because i find it hard to sleep in the day.

Reading through some of your other posts, you complain about doing dumb things in your lucid dreams and pretty much wasting them. Could it be a coincidence that you also consider reading about what other people do in their lucid dreams a waste of time?

      I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Reading through dream journals is a good idea. We keep our own journals to know what our dreams are like but what do you do when you want to be more immersed in dreams? To think more about them and read more?
You go and read others' dream journals!

      yeah Im with PJ

reading other peoples journals is great not only because it inspires you to do other more intresting things in LD's but also you can pick up on some good techniques. For example I found Adams technique I came across it in meggyfayes DJ, Also people write their methods for WILDs down ...i think twoshadows has done this.

oh and besides its just fun especially Oneirnauts matrix...that one kicks ass

Yeah, I think reading others DJs could only further help you out, I mean, you can learn whatever techinques of theirs you like and get the gist of what others dremas are like. Could also help you recognize dreamsigns in your own DJs by recognizing others Dreamsigns in their DJs.
