      First Sleep Paralysis Experience

A few nights ago I had my first sleep paralysis experience.

I guess it's not much but from struggling to remember just one dream a night a few months ago to this... it was a big step for me.

I've tried inducing sleep paralysis before, but his time it sort of happened by accident. I just woke up, rolled over and closed my eyes to go back to sleep... when a fuzzy wave came over my body.

I knew that this was what happens at the onset of sleep paralysis, so I checked to see if I could move my body and couldn't.

But literally a split second later I heard a voice talking from my bedroom door. It was a sort of electronic voice, and spoke some strange language.

I seriously thought I was being abducted by aliens! I freaked out and broke the paralysis and woke up.

I was still scared for the rest of the night, but the next day I was pretty proud that I was able to experience the next step of dreaming.

Now I just need to have a lucid dream!

      Hey Congrats Matt!!

Yah, that hypnogoggia can be really convincing sometimes. You just gotta remember that it's all in your head. You'll eventually be able not to fear it anymore and concentrate on keeping yourself in that 'zone' long enough to slip into a lucid.

Now that you know what it feels like, it should be easier next time it happens.

And remember... there are no aliens coming to take you!

I think I had my first SP a few days ago, but I didn't hear people talking. I heard a bird chirping, but I'm still not sure if it was in my head or some messed up bird making noise at 1 am.

Awesome! I have yet to experience SP. Next time you get it, try rolling out of your body. Word has it that you can induce highly realistic WILDs that way.

Just to be technical, that was hypnopompic SP because he got it while waking up.

I recently had my first (meaningful) SP experience too . But I broke it because I REALLY wanted to see who was behind me -.-, as that seems to be what happens when I'm in SP. I 'wake up' to someones voice as if they were laying behind me o.o. The first time I broke it because it freaked me out so much, and I didn't really know what the hell was going on . I really want it to happen again .

At one time I heard AP and posibley SP is witchcraft. (Don't ask me how, its from my religous aunt) But I NEVER try to LD. or go into SP, because i'm always scared to see a dark figure walking towards me in my room when I go into SP. :/

This is what happens to me too. That or it feels like I'm slowly rolling out of my bed. It's very convincing. But, that's how the LD starts. I'll sink through my bed into a foreign land/familiar land, and begin my journey.

I haven't experienced SP yet, but it seems so scary, makes me afraid of doing WILD.

I used to have sleep paralysis fairly frequently but haven't had it as of late...

the one thing I like about sleep paralysis is that it now induces a lucid dream for me 99% of the time, if I see myself in my bed but can't move? Its obvious I'm dreaming and I end up becoming lucid immediately...

this is actually how my first 3-4 lucid dreams all started, from sleep paralysis...

      Congrats!
I've been trying to induce SP for awhile now with no success whatsoever, I did however wake up a couple days ago and I couldnt move for a few seconds. Was this my mind waking up before my body?
