      FINALLY!

I finally had an LD since joining this sight, just happened last night. It was really really strange to me how it happened, because usually when I become lucid.....I just AM lucid for no reason. I was sitting in the basement of my old house playing a computer game, and my sister was next to me. She pointed out that one of my units had changed names. It was supposed to be Centurion, but I looked again and it was something like Xziaus. So in my dream, my SISTER told me to RC. To test it, I just thought hmmmmm, FIRE, and my weight bench caught on fire. STOP, and it went out. It was actually an extremely long LD, probably one of the longest dreams I can remember in a while. All I know is that having someone else tell me to RC in my dream made me lucid VERY easily. Anyone else ever had that?
Its hard to dream recall when your starin' down the barrel of a loaded Thnikkaman.

Hey congrats! Did you do any preparations before bed?

Don't think a dream character has ever told me to RC. But when I do become lucid, I go around trying to convince other people that it's a dream.

      Congradulations!
I've had two cases similar to this. In one I did an RC and said aloud, "Could I be dreaming?" then my dream dad who was in the room said, "Of course you are." I had to double check with another RC but I had my first decent LD because of that. The other one a dream character just walked up to me and said, "You do realize you're dreaming, don't you?"

Yeah, the only reason those happened were probably my sub-concious making up for being abusive to me in my previous attmepts. One example of this is one time before that first decent LD I said aloud, "I'm dreaming!" and the nearest by dream character said, "Then you won't mind if I do this!" He proceeded to grab me by the throat and slam me against the wall, causing me to lose lucidity. So after doing stuff like that repeatedly my sub-concious probably helped me to make up for it. Now it's even ground. It doesn't thwart me or help me. That's my guess at least.

Yup..In one of my Ld's I asked my a DC that looked like my best friend in school "Am I dreaming?" And she said "Yeah." Someone needs to try and figure out why some DCs help and others hurt your LD chances....xD....

Hey has anyone while dreaming asked themselves, "Am I dreaming?" and then answered no and didn't become lucid? That'd be hilarious.

Sort of, once. There was a force field between the living room of my apartment and the room adjacent to it. I realized, "hey I'm dreaming!" and I tried to run through the force field.

Has anyone else ever experienced a lucid concussion?
An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

now, that just made me laugh. thats tough love

I just started to LD, but I havent really had any interference from my DC's. they just seems so accept that I'm dreaming, and tryng to help me out...
A child's rhyme stuck in my head.
It said that life is but a dream.
I've spent so many years in question
to find I've known this all along.

      DC

I was talking w/ a DC, some random conversation, and I said "That's all well and fine, but do you realize you're dreaming?"
      She says, "What?"
"You're dreaming right now." I said.
I became lucid then, kinda cool way to work one's consciousness into it. However, she disappeared after I got lucid. I lost it soon thereafter cause I got too excited about being lucid.

      Torcher, what a cool avatar!

Yeah that getting too excited bit always seems to end LDs. A couple of nights ago, I remember becoming lucid and getting REALLY excited.. it ended as soon as I realized I was lucid. Arr. The only scene I have stored in my head is me just standing there.
