i don't suppose anyone has seen the above film? (later dubbed into english and given the title The Science Of Sleep)
if you haven't it was made in 2006 and directed by Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - also a fantastic film)
it's all about lucid dreaming and possible schizophrenia. it revolves around Stephane (played by Gael Garcia Bernal) and his dream-relationship with Stephanie (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg). but in brief and without spoiling anything, Stephane struggles with this when his lucid dreams and reality start to mix.
anyway the reason i mention it is because Stephane goes to some pretty crazy lengths to get Stephanie into his dreams. For example, he goes to sleep with his feet in a refrigerator, and dreams of skiing on a mountain top with her.
another thing he tries is attaching a piece of string to his eyelid so that a machine can pull it at a certain moment in his sleep - a dream signal.
am i the only one who's seen this film?
has anyone else gone "out of their way" to get a dream character into their dreams?*
*on the subject, i'm struggling with this. i keep trying to imagine someone (amanda) appearing but it never works. any help would be much appreciated..
or y'know.. i could just go talk to her in the real world but where's the fun in that? TO THE FRIDGE!!!
