      Becoming a Tree

By far one of the most bizarre LD experiences I've "felt" in a long while...

As I leaned against the big old tree trunk, I could feel its tough woody bark pushing back against my fleshy fingertips. Then my fingers and hands began to sink into the tree trunk. I could feel the wood soaking into me almost like a sponge sucks in water. It's hard to describe how the flesh of a human body could take on the characteristics of a tree, but as I began to assimilate the tree, I pulled away from it to see if that would halt the process. Apparently what I had already started was spreading into the rest of my body. I could feel my blood stop in its course as it was replaced with clear and green fluids and an "energy" quite different from my human form. I looked down at my arm and it had turned into a branch that continued to grow, sprouting more branches and leaves in front of my eyes which were also beginning to change along with my vision. I was growing larger and more dense by the second, but I didn't feel threatened by the strange sensation of muscle and bone turning into wood and bark. In fact it felt almost freeing, though I struggled greatly to maintain my focus of mind. I looked down at my feet and they had grown into huge wooden trunks that split into several roots sinking into a brown earth and loam. They were not anchored to the ground like you might think, though. I lifted one leg and it pulled free almost effortlessly. I set my foot back down, then concentrated, trying to come back to some semblance of my original dream body. My tree body instantly became more human-looking, but still maintained a woody brown look with twigs and leaves sprouting sporadically and growing quickly out of control.

      Weird.

I felt completely like myself in the sense of mind, memories, personality, etc, but simultaneously "physically" like nothing I had ever been before. Maybe like one of those tree-creatures from the Lord of the Rings or something. I've also assimilated other things like fire, iron, and other stones/crystal/minerals before, but during those experiences I always maintained my basic human shape - whereas the tree form was very difficult to maintain control of, kind of like the tree form was engulfing or overpowering my human form.

I read the inanimate thread... I guess I don't consider trees to be inanimate since they are alive and they move (grow). As far as becoming a wall or rock, or something, it seems like it would defeat the purpose since living, moving perception is so much more than something that has no sensation or perception like a couch or radio.

That is funny you mention that evangel, about the trees from the Lord of The Rings. That is aht I had pictured when you described it.
That must have been a very high level of Lucidity.

It would not be inanimate anymore if you took control of the object. That's what would make it so bizzare. I living inanimate object?.?

But if its a dream it doesn't mean it's alive, your just imagining it is, and really nothing in any of my lds have been inanimate, if I concentrate on one thing it might start moving I'm not sure why yet

Really cool Evangel! Something I've been wanting to try as well since first reading about it in a book called 2150A.D.

Do you remember what kind of tree you were?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Amazing. I never knew or thought of trying to assimilate into other things. That sounds like fun. I also was imagining that you were describing those tree things from lord of the rings.

Tell me, do you think it's possible to assimilate into energy, like fire or electricity?

Yep. I think one can assimilate or become anything, depending on ability of imagination and level of lucidity.

      from my above post:

I've also assimilated other things like fire, iron, and other stones/crystals/minerals before, but during those experiences I always maintained my basic human shape [/b]
One that might be fascinating would be wind or water. I guess you would have to maintain some kind of definite shape in order to maintain your thought process and sense of \"personality\" or identity. Another thing that arises is the idea of density and size. If you were to assimilate say a large body of water or other liquid, you could increase your size and decrease your density to \"become a part of it\" or be assimilated while still maintaining your \"self\"... I 've done the size and density changes several times - many times to overwhelm an attacker or enemy. It takes some intense concentration and breathing exercises though.

Do you remember what kind of tree you were?[/b]
I think it was an oak (that's what it looked like most).

When I was really young I had this weird dream that repeated a few times and I was a flower. There was always a bunch of other flowers, I think maybe my family or something(not sure who they where now). Couldn't really move but would sit there and talk to each other. I think maybe we could swing around a little but not get out of the ground.
