      First Successful WILD

      Hey all

Finally managed to get a WILD right. But it had its problems
Firstly its not as vivid as the marketting brochure promised... not bad, but not fantastic. I've had better

Part of the problem was that I live in close proximity of neighbours, and they weren't exactly quite at 9 AM on a saturday

But most notably... no matter how I tried, I couldn't completely ignore my physical body. I had both dream and physical bodies simultaneously
I couldn't move the physical one really, but still.
That was distracting eg. when I swallowed involuntarily.

Of course what also didnt help was the cold... more on that in a second, it relates to Truthbearers suggestions.

      Credits go to ...
Truthbearer - For his post about sleeping without blankets. This morning I had the heater in the room, and used only one light blanket. I discovered that it seems that the weight of my blankets alters my awareness level... good thing to know...

LDGuy - For the self-hypnosis thing. I don't know exactly how well it worked, but it sure helped me get through to a WILD. It felt like it was working in any event Its tough to get through all those steps though, without losing concentration...

The person who posted the idea of floating on a raft (someone help here?) - For the idea of imagining being on a raft. After the self-hypnosis I used this to get through to dreamland. Worked pretty good.

Nightowl... or Alaurast.. I forget which.. - For bringing up some interesting ideas in the chat yesterday. I tried the transformation thing, but into a woman .. teehee...

OpheliaBlue - For being voted the 'best woman on the forum' ... at least on my vote!

And last... but most certainly not least...
My loving wife - For going away for a few days on holiday. No offence, but you really screw up my sleep cycles in winter...

      Hey, congrats!!

I don't really have any advice, since I haven't had a WILD yet, but it's bound to get better and easier from here on out!

I'm actually thanked by someone! Yeah, concentration is a factor, but I find that I'll just lay there without anything happening (rather than having a difficulty staying awake I have a difficulty falling asleep) and just end up rolling over and going to sleep. Good idea to mix in the tactile sensations though, I'll try that. I've yet to have a WILD

      Thanks all

      Which tactile sensations? The raft?
Well what I used to stabilise the WILD was to run my hands down rough walls and over cobblestoned ground.
And looking at my hands in between.
That helped a lot, but still could feel my physical body at times...

Yeah, tactile sensation refers to the raft. I'm not worried about maintaining it much yet, just getting into one. I haven't yet but I haven't really tried much. I have tried about twice but both times I wasn't comfortable and lost my relaxation. I came very close though.

Yay!!! I am on the credits too!!!!

If it is not too much to ask, can you post your results in my thread? I want everyone to hear the success stories there!!!!
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
