lucid w/o control

i realized i was dreaming, and i know a little about lucid dreams and had had them before, so i started trying to make stuff happen. And i couldn't! I tried thing after thing. I don't remember all the details, but at one point i even tried to have sex with jesus (no idea). it didn't work, of course, i had no control over anything. It was actually a pretty nightmarish dream. When i woke up, i wondered if i had really been lucid dreaming without control over anything, or was i dreaming that i was lucid dreaming without control. I don't guess that it matters... I suppose if you know you are dreaming that qualifies as lucid no matter what... has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I haven't experienced anything like that, but I've had lucid dreams without control. Years ago when I was still in Highschool I was sleeping in school(I never cared much for school) and did a WILD, before I knew what a WILD was, and went into my dream. I was in the back of a jeep going through the dessert, completely lucid. Then I thought "alright, I made it to the dream world. But I don't want to be here. Now change!" and no matter what I did I couldnt get out of the jeep or change anything! Then someone woke me up.

I think the only limits are the ones you put on yourself. I cant even imagine having that problem now. No ones gonna keep me in any jeep if I don't want to be there(if Im lucid). Once you fully realize your powers, no one can take them away from you. You can even have sex with Jesus if you truely want to.

And maybe you tried to do things that you really, truely didnt want to? Just a thought.

I have had lucid dreams where i have not had much control. If you are aware you are dreaming it qualifies. They are just low level lucid dreams. The more you practice the easier it will get to take control of your dreams and then you can do whatever you want. I think that is why there are so many people pursuing it!!! What a great power... to do whatever the hell you want while dreaming. One can live a whole other life in their dream world. I know it can be disappointing though if you can't get there right away. I am still jealous of the people that can have an LD whenever they want. I have to be thankful for the ones that i have had!!! Anyway I know I went off there a little bit but... oh well.

i DIDN'T by any means want to have sex with jesus. Maybe it was just my issues with religion playing themselves out, who knows. But I don't think it was the specific *things* that i was trying to do that i cared about, just that i wanted to do SOMETHING. I wanted to experience that. A complete non-concesus(my terminology) environment. but i do find lucid dreams often taking sexual turns... anyone else?

Sex with Jesus eh? Sounds crazy :o My LD's often take a sexual turn...but it really depends on my mood, and how sexually frustrated i am at the time. That's the neat thing about LD's it's like taking your conciousness for a crazy rollercoaster ride.[/quote]

Yeah, sex seems to come up all the time, regardless of how much sex I'm having in real life. Not that I'd ever had encounters with jesus like that. So maybe the reason you couldnt have sex with jesus is because you didnt want to. But whatever it is you DO want to do in your dream, next time try being more assertive. If you want to fly and it isnt working, command the dream to lift you off the ground. "Fly damnit! NOW!" The more you assert yourself the more your wishes will be granted to you. I can't always fully control my lucid dreams. For example, if I want a gun, I can't make it appear randomly. I have to find a box, and open the box, and I'll find it. Or if I want to meet a person, I think of the person then open a door, and the person will be there. Or I walk round a corner and the person will be there.

I think the key to controlling it is to stay calm and not get frustrated.

I think that one would be rather hard...especially if you were brought up catholic or christian. As it has been instilled in your brain since you were a child that jesus is an extremely holy figure and is way above those kinds of acts...therefore the brain would have a really hard time processing the fact that you were going to have sex with this figure...that it has a deeply imbedded preconception about.

like I said. you could have sex with Jesus if you want to. Most people don't want to and I dont even think she did. Which is why it didnt work.

i think i might have dreamed about the sex with jesus thing because i was thinking about the whole catholic conspiracy thing, and how people are saying now that jesus was married and had a kid, but the church didn't want people knowing that because they are patriarcal and don't want women to be an influence on anything. My own personal thoughts about that were that maybe they were trying to discourage people from sex because when you have sex you are bound to connect with a REAL divine power or source. so maybe all that jesus thought and sex thought combined in my dream to be a weird hybrid thought.
