      WILD or no?

This morning I might've had my first WILD... I woke up really tired, so I just tried going back to sleep. I had a song playing in my head though, so that kept me up slightly. In like 10 seconds though, I felt a wave of paralysis go through me. I didn't try moving any muscles though, in case I broke the process. In 5 seconds, I felt a bunch of vibrations and weird distortions on my body... and in case I lost lucidity in the dream, I began saying to myself "1, I'm dreaming, 2, I'm dreaming..." and pretty soon, I noticed that I was in a dream. I tried rolling away from my reality body, but I messed up and fell on the floor in the dream and lost lucidity...

I'm not really sure if it was a WILD or a dream, since it felt pretty fast, and I thought WILDs were supposed to take a while. Maybe it was a dream reentry?

Also, is playing a song in your head a way to keep yourself in between awake and asleep? Anyone else have this experience?

Yay, you did a WILD! WILDs can happen really quickly, in less than a minute, but sometimes they take longer.

I can also hear songs/voices/noises when in the hypnogogic stage before a WILD.

I didn't hear it out loud though... it was just a song stuck in my head. =/

Yeah, that can happen both when in between sleep and wake, and can also happen when awake.

There is one thing I've learned from both reading WILDers' experiences on DV, and my own experiences, and that is that WILDs will feel different from person to person, even from WILD to WILD. I hope that makes sense.

I guess I'll try again in the middle of the night using my "technique"... if I at least manage to get SP'd or something, then I found myself a great WILD technique. =D
