Skeptic turned beliver (may be a little long)

I used to think dreams were only for storing memories. But after reading this forums for a whole day I gave a WILD a try. Everything started shaking my heart started beating really fast, I went numb, I couldn't breathe. I was just too afraid to of SP and called it off, and I have been doing that every time I try a WILD, I keep calling it off.... but at least I know it is possible now and believe it myself.

      First, congratulations!
I haven't even reached SP in WILDs yet, haven't even tried in a while.
I just posted to comment on your saying you used to think dreams were for storing memories. Do you store memories in your dreams? For me, the impression was always otherwise, dreams are 'memories' that are very hard to catch!

Well scientificly speaking, dreams are your minds way of taking short term memories and turning them into long term memories. Your mind process the information and a bi-product is a dream. Without dreams you would go insane due to information overload so to speak (3 days without dreaming to be exact).

But I now realise that is just the tip of the ice burg, so much you can learn and expolore about yourself, but I am just so afraid of SP I can't get past it. I know I can do it.

One piece of advice that I can give you is to stop re-affirming the notion that you're so afraid of SP. (For example, remove it from your sig.) You need to start looking at SP without the pre-conceived fear, and going into it with a sense of adventure and exploration. You'll never be able to fully accomplish that if, every time you make a post, you're reminded (either by your Sig or your post content) of how deathly afraid of SP you are.

That really is a weird feeling... I'm the same as you, just too afraid. I've pretty much gone into this state about 6 or 7 times by now in the past few nights, but I think tonight is the night I actually follow through. Since we are both in the same situation here, maybe it might help if I do it tonight and tell you about how it went? Maybe that would help you not be so afraid?

The only thing I fear at this point (not the hallucinations that go with SP) would having my Mom come in the room to find that I'm mumbling words for a few minutes and can't move, when in actuality I'm trying to tell her that nothing bad is really happening.

I have real trouble believing this.

After staying up for more than 3 nights in a row and then sleeping you won´t remember ANYTHING? If that were so a whole lot less people would take speed/meth. Gimme at least a wiki link
      LDs: loads and counting

LD Goal: A fine single malt scotch and a fine cuban cigar (accomplished, but need to do it more)

You remember stuff, you just begin to go temporarily insane.
