are vivid dreams a step to becoming lucid?

last nite i had a quite shockingly vivid dream and i was wondering if it was a step in the right direction.

      from dream journal
ashton kutcher killed several people. he hada slow deep voice. he was dressed in a blue robe and his head was bandaged like he had surgery or something. he watched all of his victims for a long time. then he is in a hotel room and starts rambling on how his victims are not worthy to live. then he got drunk and started watching a tape of himself killing someone. he kept one victim in the room. then the cops came and bagged him up CSI style cuz i guess he was dead.

i could continue from here but i would rather not a had two other dreams that nite and they both dealt with people dieing.

it was also kinda weird how i remembered that much, every other nite i could barley remember anything but now that one nite took a whole page in my DJ.

      help is appreciated.

yeah I like killing people too... T_T

In my opinion I don't think it makes a difference, if anything it would be very distracting because of all that whatever I don't know where I'm going now, never mind I'll stop now.

kingmatt8, it's really not so surprising that you would remember more vividly the dreams that disturbed you in some way.

I would also think that very vivid dreams could help you with lucid dreaming.. unless they are so vivid they seem like real life, in which case your brain simply doesn't question what's happening.
