annoying!!
hi. every time i come close to being lucid (which is almost every night), in my dream it feels like im starting to wake up, but i dont. and i lose my awareness of it being a dream.
i first started practicing LDing about a year ago and sort of gave up until lately i have been noticing that i realize im dreaming in my dreams

Next time you are in a dream convince your self that you will stay lucid and dreaming. If you do that then it will become true.
-
lemon-sqwishy, since it's so easy for you to lose focus of being lucid.. you could always simply repeat to yourself over and over "I'm dreaming.. this is all a dream" as soon as you realize that you're close to being lucid.
-
yes but i have no controll. i am aware of the dream but am powerless to change my actions because it doesnt cross my mind
-
Control will come with practice. For now, just to do things to help you stay in the dream and remain aware. Notice the details around you. Move, if you can--action can help keep the dream stable. Look at your hands. Rub your hands together.
There are many various tricks like that to keep you in the dream. After you get that down, you can start to work on control.
You say, "It doesn't cross your mind"--remembering what you want to do is also a skill that improves with practice.
It can be a slow process. Hang in there and it will get better.

What helps me is when I go to bed I go to sleep with a certain goal in mind for when I become lucid. I think about it over and over as I go to sleep. So when I become lucid that thought comes back to me and I can focus on the goal.

Once you realize you are lucid it can get kind of difficult to stay asleep or focused on the fact that you are lucid. What I try to do is keep it in the back of my mind but also focus on the surroundings which helps keep you asleep and also is usually good evidence that you are dreaming.
